It's not a smooth experience at all. Do you want to play Splinter Cell conviction? I have problems with every miserable game I want to launch for the most diverse reasons, I'm already bored with setting up, I just want to sit down and play quickly on my couch. 10 years ago the difference was probably abysmal, but now the gap is smaller. Today I privilege speed and comfort. Perhaps the only really relevant advantages on PC are its free multiplayer and infinite backwards compatibility.
