There are so many posters here with so many varying opinions that it's great to be a member here! News seems to get posted here faster than anywhere else I've seen. I'm just glad to be here, and I hope I can contribute in some positive way to this place.

Hehe, I knew I'd take some heat for this post, but I have to admit it's a great place to exchange information and ideas. All other internet forums I've come across are full of trolls and mis-information. This place at least has some sort of semblance of control and a good majority of the members seem pretty intelligent.

Well, this is a very good forum compared to others I've been to, along with the reasons you stated you said in your first post.

My idea for allowing new members into the forum:

We have Junior Member camp, where all the true Junior Members stay... until one of them kills another Junior Member. Culling of the heard in the finest sense. We'd see less double posts and just a happier forum in general. All in favor?

Actually, many forums (Sonic CulT, god rest its soul) have a "newbie pit" kinda deal where that's the only forum they can post in until they hit their post-to-member requirement. I always saw them as kind of pointless but they are a good way to weed out those that aren't serious about being full-fledged members (for what it's worth)

Do the moderators monitor posts in the newbie pit? Sounds to me like someone could just post a period one hundred times and gain access pretty easily.
