I miss Kevin Butler commercials.

If I was in charge of marketing at Sony he'd be getting a phone call for the PS5 launch. I'd have a multigenerational nostalgia trip ready to go.

The GT5 commercial still gets chuckles from me.
No that marketing is awful

Whatever happened to the guy who played him? I personally liked most of them...they sort of reminded me of Sega back in the Genesis days with their "attitude" commericals.

He did a commercial for the Wii U playing either the same character or a very similar one, and Sony sued him.

That's right, KB was the weapon Nintendo used to backstab Sony a second time.

It was fun marketing, when Sony was down, they really started to add fun marketing, now it's just ehhhhhhh.
At the time those Kevin Butler commercials were coming out i couldn't understand their appeal. But a year ago i have watched some of them again and they finally clicked with me and i realized it was a brilliant marketing campaign. I wonder what Jerry Lambert is doing nowdays.Judging from his wikipedia page he doesn't seem very active.

This commercial at the start of the PS4 generation was also very clever taking advantage of their legacy and history to target the player's nostalgia. I'm surprised why Nintendo hasn't done something similar with a history and nostalgia that far exceeds that of Sony's.

I loved these then, and I love them now.

Mabye MS can poach him and change the name, like Sprint did with the "can you hear me now" guy that did all the Verizon commercials.

I remember Sony 2013 E3 with Jack Tretton, absolutely boring, and the only fun part was his 5 minute speech they mixed some time later for a song:

We never got him in the UK so he's an American exclusive. It was a really fun time, I still think about them sometimes. That one time they got him to appear at E3 was wild.
