It's incredible in vr too. I don't really like it as a flatscreen game but my god, sat in the drivers seat in vr was crazy. Love how the game gave you warnings that a track was going to be intense, lol yes please give that speed to me.

yeah that port was farmed out to Tantalus Media. it was horrible. there is another which a much better port but still not great.

Buddy of mine sent me this. It's AI .. but I have to admit it is so close to my dreams of what a Wipeout game could become one day from 25 years ago. Love the sense of scale … which to this day is not something enough games get right. Even the actual Wipeout games couldn't get that right…

Wipeout when it came out on the PS was magical... I loved that game.
Also Ridge Racer for that matter. It was my first ever PS game, and I imported both the console and the game from Japan. I remember thinking its "driving physics" was bizarre, but for some fucked up reason it still worked...
^^^ Oh yeah, Jet Moto, did so many hours in splitscreen in that game, was awesome.
