Check load temps. Also check the GPU temps.
Everything's fine temp wise, it will shutdown without any load and low temps.
Wondering if this old CPU is read for pasture or if the thermal compound didn't set right.

Are you sure it isn't GPU or some errant sensor setting things off?
Also try resetting your BIOS to defaults and see if that helps.
I recently upgraded to an i5 cpu & mobo, along with a 7970. I was very happy with the performance, however the 7970 just wasn't compatible with my tv so I returned it.
I was going to wait for a non-ref 290, but the prices seem out of whack. Are new cards on the way? My 560ti is still chugging along, should I wait for new cards or just grab a 290 when the market stabilizes?

Yeah, it is stupid how so many big computer manufactures sell really pricey PCs and claim that they are for gaming, yet put an ultra shit GPU in them.
A few days ago I ran across this horrible turd, note the claims of "extreme gaming" and "supreme graphics performance", yet if you click onto the only model they have listed you will find a PC with a GTX 645 (with "up to" 2GB of VRAM!) and 24GB of main RAM!
There's some posted in the last page (100 ppp) but I'll take some more when it's all done and everything is wired.
I hope everything works right off the bat. Will be extremely bummed if something doesn't work.
I am in need of GAF's expertise. So, I recently purchased a Samsung Ativ Book 6 and wanted to upgrade the HDD. I already have an 840 EVO that was my default option. However, while shopping around I found this http://www.hwtools.net/Adapter/SSDMR.html.
Now, my question is: is it possible to use one of those mSATA slots as a connector for a regular platter drive? That is, through some crazy sequence of adapters, might one be able to run mSATA+HDD in RAID using the controller? Let's set aside the physical logistics of fitting a combination like that into a laptop with only one HDD bay and no optical bay. Am I just playing Frankenstein? Or is this a viable option for two drives using one SATA "connection"?

Running the Witcher pretty nice so far. Slows down a little on Torchlight II and plays Orcs Must Die 2 impressively well. Testing Borderlands 2 later on.AMD R7 250 or Nvidia GT 640?

Do you recommend adding another GTX 680 4GB, or wait for a better GPU? I have an AX750 PSU.
I'm waiting for a 1440p monitor (possibly G-sync) and I don't think a single 680 will be enough for playing games at ultra settings.
And can someone explain me SLI antialiasing? Is it something to enable or is it just a way to say "the AA workload is splitted"? and how does it compare to other AA solutions?

Here's the list I'm looking at - I'll be shoving a flashed 6950 (which is currently in a LOL Inspiron 530 with a Q6600) in it until later next year. Am I correct in thinking that with the ROG Hero I won't need the Xonar? Looks like the ROG basically has all of the same audio decoders in it.
Haven't done this in aaaages, the Q6600 is starting to show it's age, but by God, that thing has been a workhorse.

The 770 will work fine but my question I'd put to you is a 10% performance boost worth $70? Especially when that $70 could get you an SSD instead.
If not then change that 760 to one of these fellas, all have better coolers

If you're just gaming btw you can drop to a 4670K and 8GB RAM. If it's media stuff then stick with what you've got.

Alright guys, pretty clueless PC guy looking to buy a new PC in the 700-800 dollar range. I'm in the US. Things I'd like to use the PC for
1.) normal use (web browsing, watching video, word, etc...)
2.) Gaming. I'd like to be able to run new games at medium settings. I'd also like to be able to record/capture gameplay. Most capturing/recording would be of indie games, so if AAA and capturing aren't possible for a PC in my price range, that's okay.
3.) potential HTPC use. If I can fix my 50" HDTV, I'll probably mainly keep the PC connected to that. If I can't, it'll be used with a monitor at a desk.
I used part picker, and this is what I have (again, completely clueless. What can I lose/downgrade without a hit? What am I missing? I'd love to get this down a few hundred, but am feeling a little over my head. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys!!

EDIT: Is there no reason for a wired adapter? Isn't that an ethernet port? Might it be worth it if my desk is right next to the router? Is it easy to add one later? Or is it not necessary/completely redundant?
