I Realize Why I Love Mass Effect So Much....

I think it's mainly because I was a huge fan of Star Control 2 and Starflight games.

Mass Effect was one of the closest games we got to those with the exception is there is no space combat. But it still has the exploration aspect and different aliens which is what I love.

We really need more games like SC2 and Starflight.

The reason why I love the OG Mass Effect Trilogy is because it's Space Opera in Videogame form. Along with making the female characters actually attractive. The plot is fantastic until that last part in the third game. Graphics still look good and has a great soundtrack. Gameplay was alot of fun across all three games. Not to mention that the dialogue trees were great and I played as a female shepherd because she was actually a good female character. Unfortunately this franchise is dead in the water though..

Even when PS3 was catching up late, the little interactive comic that came with ME2 to cover all the big decisions for part 1 was really cool and well done

Yeah for me Xbox 360 is my favorite of that gen. They really had a wide variety of games that I spend alot of hours into. Thankfully I never got the Red Ring of Death. Nowadays sad to see what Microsoft has become when it comes to gaming

Playing mass effect exclusive to the Xbox 360 at the time was exciting and exhilarating! You never knew when your 360 was gonna crash!

I got a 360 just for Mass Effect and Gears of War. Till this day Mass Effect is my favorite game\franchise and I've played those games more than any other games by far. I don't even make different choices or anything I just replay them and make all the same choices and still love it.

I absolutely loved the first Mass Effect. I thought it was a pretty magical experience. I was a little let down with the changes they made first to the second game and then further in that direction with the third game. Mass Effect stands alone as something very special to me and I surely wish there were more games like it. Bioware used to be such a force of nature.

I think the writer Drew Karpyshyn wasn’t involved in 3 or didn’t finish it himself.

I didn't like how the Reapers ended up fleshed out in 3. Hated the ending. Hated the Leviathan still being alive. Some or all of those could have been his ideas… but seems to coincidental to me.

BUT… 1,2 and the beginning of 3 was peak gaming for me. Absolute peak. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. I WANTED to talk to characters and actually listen to what they had to say. The jank of the first game was made completely irrelevant for me because of the quality of the narrative. The potential was incredible. I remember theorizing that machines would have no concept of time like we did (some Sovereign dialogue seemed to support this) and because they could survive in dark space… for a long time I theorized Reapers were trying to “Noah’s ark” our DNA past the end of the universe as it collapsed in on itself in hundreds of billions of years before another big bang. It was so much fun to “what if” with the Reapers. Then they because goofy dialogue bad guys.

If they were making a 4th game. I’d bring Drew back. I’d pay him whatever the fuck he wanted. He’d have to write the dialogue. Because if they release another fucking game with generation tik tok moron speak in it… they will ruin a great opportunity to bring this IP back.

HIRE A REAL WRITER.

I miss games that had actual choices and player agency. Today we have meaningless dialogue choices that don’t impact anything or NPCs that “correct” your character when you make the “wrong” choice.

It was Star Wars, but in a different costume. Legendary trilogy, quite possibly the best trilogy in gaming history. And it all arrived on the same generation. And you had the same character with choices still in effect throughout it all. Treasure the memories, we won’t ever experience that again.

Well, yes. She's always been "cute" to me, but, not "hot". She's got a nice body, too. I think she left the industry at the right time. It's not like it got that much better.

Im just feeling really old and really young at the same time cuz I thought we were kinda close in age when she did the PSP lick.

I guess Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader may count.

You do flying around space and explore different worlds.

Plus it's Warhammer 40,000.

One of the best trilogies to ever grace gaming - if the Mass Effect IP was envisaged in our current era I think the games would be utter shite.

I really do miss the times when gaming was actually good.

Now we're plagued with DEI garbage made by garbage developers.
