ICO, SotC, God of War1/2 to have PS Vita remote play

Doesn't cross buy make this feature worthless?

?

Remote Play lets you play certain PS3 software using the Vita as the main screen. Games like ICO and SOTC are not available on the Vita.

so.. yosp post pic of vita playing ico hd, and people said it's for remote play?

why not dream big and say ps2 emu for vita? or ico hd port to vita :P

Is PSV remote play any better than PSP remote play?

I couldn't even load the PS Store properly with remote play (PSP) let alone a game.

Sony needs to make this compatible with ALL PS3 SOFWARE and bind R3, L3,L2, and R2 to the touch screen or rear screen.

I mean jesus, this obnoxious system of patching only a limited amount of games is so counter productive, if they can't achieve 99% compatibility they shouldn't even do it at all.

it's not that easy. PS3 need to either:

a) render at vita/psp resolution - means patch
b) convert image from native resolution to PSP/VITA means if game already has crappy framerate it will be way worse.

I remember Killzone 2 remote play on Vita being pretty good. It was on optimal setting at Sony's E3 conference though. I'll be all over these. Playing PS3 games on my Vita while the rest of the family is watching something on the big screen? Sign me up!

edit: Yoshida twitter background image is Tokyo Jungle. This dude is awesome.

If that happens, I'd personally would want to attack my back catalogue of ps3 games before buying another Vita game. I don't think Sony or publishers want that. In the case of Call of Duty, most would buy BLOPs 2 instead of buying Declassified.

I agree with the trickle approach on ps3 software. Not with PSP and PS One software.

remote play is good for playing if you use wifi in ps3. over internet is unplayable but good to stream movies music etc.

What this means is that you can't take your blops to bus , train

Everything going forward is going to he cross buy, a couple of backlog games getting remote play is cool, but cross buy is better and makes it pointless.

Not when Remote Play lets you play a PS3 / PS4 game that requires visual oomph far exceeding the Vita.

lol of course it isn't.

The Last of Us and Beyond are not going to have Vita versions.

Low resolution and input lag make remote play on the Vita a nightmare.

But the rest if the Cross features are great!

Works with 3G? I only have the wifi model and my workplace doesnt have a wifi hotspot so sotc on the go isnt possible. Sotc on the shitter is still appealing though.

Something something not available RAM for the PSP/PSVita Remote module for all games.
I think I've read a very large number of PS3 titles are indeed playable withremote play if you patch and use a custom firmware.

So I blame the devs also for not QA their product enough to have the Remote Play enabled.

(this reminds me of the Dreamcast and the VGA mode not available for 100% of the titles. But the CD-Rips/ISOs were able to patch the flag check in the executable)

This is true.

L3+R3-Rage in gow1/2
L2/R2 are used as well in both the games how exactly would they be mapped to the vita?front touch buttons and back touch pad?

Click on my BF3 link above, it shows how you can map L2R2 L3R3 on back touchpad.

It's a neat feature, but it will never be good enough latency-wise.

And I don't really get how people can get excited about this. It's just beyond me.

And don't come up with the same lame excuse "but what if the telly is being used by someone else".

You get the worst experience you could possibly imagine: input lag (huge input lag), worse controls and a little screen (well, at least is an amazing little screen).

wait... blazblue... a fighting game works with this?

That sounds like a joy to play.

I recall loling when iwata mentioned that they spend a sizeable portion of R&D of wii U on latency between controller and system.

But then i remember remote play. :(

wii u's tablet screen refreshes faster than the tv's
there's a eurogamer video/article on it

PSP had 802.11 B wifi at best. The Vita can take advantage the PS3's 802.11 G wifi for extra bandwidth. Too bad Sony decided against upgrading the wifi to N in the slim or super slim.

does it need a direct wifi connection for LAN? Why can't you just connect via your router? Thats what it does for the internet connection, seems to make sense to use the same for LAN too?

And hopefully they update the resolution too to proper Vita resolution. And maybe update the codec, presumably some developments have been done since the original PSP one

and of course build it in as standard for PS4 for all games.

Man, I really need to get that ICO/SoTC HD collection. That shit looks really nice on the Vita screen. Too bad I don't own a Vita, but I imagine it looks nice enough on a TV as well.

They look great on 3DTV too ! Played Ico from beginning to end in 3D. It's a very interesting experience.

Yes if the same game is available for Cross-Buy but in general, it depends on performance, pricing model, etc.

Streaming games (like RemotePlay) and bundling (aka Cross Buy) are not mutually exclusive too.

Of course it is. PSP wifi sucked.

Is the lag reduced at all with the Vita? I was getting something like half a second of latency with the PSP in the past when I tried out remote play. This aspect makes it far more unplayable than the poor image quality.

Probably aiming for Gaikai or AirPlay-like performance (or better !) when optimized.

Otherwise, there is no reason to work on it today.

I think I'll create a twitter account just to ask Yoshida for Demon's Souls as the next PS3 remote play title.

No, it's not. Remote Play is still terrible.

The simple fact that people have to be happy about remote play for those games when they should have real ports on the Vita... Fuck that shit.

The internet is such a confusing place, When a handheld get a console port people say that the handheld has no identity because all it has is Console ports now people are saying that people shouldn't be happy about remote play because the game should be ported to the handheld.

For those who haven't tried remote play, the lag is significant and problematic. There is absolutely no way SOTC will be playable in any way.
