How much brain matter must remain for a zombie to rise?

According to Frankenstien (of Day of the Dead fame), just the cerebral cortex.

But they do fight sharks!

Ugh. Zombie (aka Zombie 2) sucked balls. It did bring up a good point, though. Zombies may not be able to swim, but they CAN walk along the bottom of the ocean. Meaning, if the world is eventually overtaken by the undead, you wouldn't neccessarily be safe on a island. You actually could be lulled into a false sense of security, having escaped to an island and living there for years thinking you're safe. Then BAM!! Zombie horde gets you in your sleep.

Zombies would get crushed by the underwater ocean pressure. Physics > zombies.

Also zombies hate fire. Hate it. As long as there's trees, not all is lost.

Why couldn't they do a pale imitation of swimming, though? I mean, dead bodies float around all the time. These would be like that, but with some limited limb movement to propel in a certain direction.

I wish this would happen. I have fantasies about it sometimes. Ideally, it would just be the typical Resident Evil zombies, nothing else.

If I woke up tommorow as Leon driving towards raccoon city at the beginnig on RE2, I would be very happy.

But the thing about zombies is that it would be over very quickly. Lumbering idiots could never take over the world.
