If Yu Suzuki were to make Shenmue III, would it be final or would it be on-going?

I don't even care about the series (never played it, and Yakuza seem like a good replacement), but that was cruel.

Yes.

Also clickbait title.

The need to start the game against from the ground up.

Have it be just Shenmue, then in the game have the content of the first and second one, plus an entire new chapter. I myself would love to play a new one but I never got my hand of Shenmue 2.

If ShenMue III is ever announced, nobody will ever go to the official thread. They will think "Ha not this time dude, not this time..."

hmm, i mean the gameplay would be outdated, maybe a more than a HD remake wouldnt be too bad, something of a semi reboot first perhaps? less QTE's for example.

If you read the title and thought "so you're telling me there's a chance," you've already lost.

Attention seeking posters with click bait title, particularly with shenmue 3 are the worst. It is well known that shenume was intended to be a trilogy originally

I highly doubt Shenmue III will be released anytime soon (if at all). If anything, first there will be remakes of the first two to see the demand.

This title comes around every year at E3 lol. I gave up all hope 5 or so years ago when they failed to even released that online game. There's a better chance of seeing Sega releasing a sequel to Panzer Dragoon Saga.

Why were people expecting a confirmation in a title simply called "Shemue III". If it was announced the thread woul of said something else, plus it would be on every news site ever.

You Shenmue fans are just desperate at this point...

3 definitely wasn't intended to be the last one though now obviously if it is ever made, you'd have to think it would be the last one.

He had 15/16 chapters worked out and Shenmue 2 ended at Chapter 7 iirc.

Shenmue was Chapter 1, Chapter 2 is available as a manga in the Xbox version of S2 and Shenmue 2 covers chapters 3-5.

I remember it being mentioned in another thread that Suzuki apparently said that he's wrap up the series in S3 if he ever got a chance to make it. I'm not really sure how he could squeeze all of those chapters into one game. There's going to be some corner cutting done with it.

I think the title is fine. If you felt it tricked you or something than you have your hopes way too damn high for this game.

if he had to do microtransactions for the rest, i wouldnt even be mad

Never heard of shenmue 1 or 2, what system was it on, who was the devs? I'm going to feel so out of the loop at E3 if this gets announced and people start dancing in the street.

I never owned a Dreamcast but watching videos of Shenmue, I've never understood its appeal. Exactly what is it about that game that made it 'so ahead of its time'?

Yeah games had come a long way since them and I want to re experience the first fames but in Shenmue you walk with the D-pad and use the analog to look around. That's unforgivable.
