IGN: PDZ Hands-On

I am curious. I saw Halo at E3 in 2001 and was not wowed. I loved the idea, but it looked rough. Was Halo this bad 1.5 months away from launch? And the only reason I compare this to Halo is because MS has and so many others have in terms of it being the reason to buy an X360.

Its very simliar to Halo before launch. I remember it well...Halo had a terrible showing at E3 and that lead to a lot of lowered expectations. However, a couple of weeks before launch, the first review came in from Ve3d.com and they gave it a 10. The review was heavily critqued because nobody could believe that the mess they showed at E3 turned into something better than Goldeneye.

Personally, I'm gonna reserve judgement on PDZ until the reviews come in...I, for one, can't stand the tast of crow. :P

Unless multiplayer is broken I'm gonna take a guess and say most reviews will be 8s across the board.

The trailer sound was awful, but I quite liked the music in the gameplay vids.

The audio was way off. You can hear the father talking about the garbage that breaks his fall in the alley even though you never seen the action take place. The missile hits, the bridge starts to fall, and you get the audio about ten seconds to early as the screen fades out.

Not that having better audio would have helped that steaming pile. They should have just went with gameplay and let it speak for itself.

Also, before JD leaves the boat you can see her lips moving, but there is no voice to go with them. The audio on this movie is really messed up.

BTW, I agree w/ everyone in here. It looks horrible. I can't imagine anyone buying an X360 for this game.

For the love of crap, watch the gameplay vids, not that b-roll ass-trailer. The game looks 100x better than that--which, honestly, doesn't look like it was in anything remotely resembling a finished state. Heck, going back to the halo analogy, do you know all the game's cinematics were finished in the last couple days before it went gold? Trust me, the game is gonna look slick when it's finished--it already looks amazing from the single and multiplayer aspects.
