But I want a controller big enough for my MANLY hands!
The Faceless Master said:(sold seperately)
also, depends on price...
if the wireless is over $10 more, hell yeah i'm going wired, especially since it doesnt even come with the battery pack

Wired controller is for people too lazy to recharge and people who still want rumble features.

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox360/controllers.htmYou'll have a choice of the plain wireless controller, which runs off of a pair of AA batteries that should give you plenty of play time before running out, or you can also use the rechargeable battery pack (sold separately) with a play-charge cable, which temporarily turns your wireless controller into the wired variety, but only as long as it takes to recharge your gear.
or too smart to waste money buying batteries or charger packs when the console can provide power for the controllersRorschach said:Wired controller is for people too lazy to recharge and people who still want rumble features.

Pedigree Chum said:Not a big deal, analogue buttons were a waste this gen other than the very few titles here and there that took advantage of them.
kaching said:It'd be great if next-gen systems supported the bluetooth wireless headsets available for cellphones now.
i'm thinking 2 wired MS controllers and 2 wireless MS controllers... and not because i WANT wireless, but because there's only two damn front usb ports... if there were 4, i'd shoot for 4 wired controllersjedimike said:True... but if you're going to be dropping $300 for the console, I would imaging scraping up an extra $10-$15 for rechargeable batteries and a charger or for MS's recharger (thx for the info btw) shouldn't be much of a problem.
Personally, I'll have 2 nice wireless controllers (which will get used often) and then I'll have 2 cheap 3rd party controllers... probably wired. They will get used rarely.

Seriously though, it is the most comfortable pad there is...other than that....

In fact I think all of Sega's systems have had pretty good names, while pretty much every other system has had a bad name. Xenon could've been kindof cool but it ended up being the Xbox 360 (which I still don't think is THAT bad...just a little too long).
I still say Playstation is the king in terms of stupid names though.
That's the same configuration that's on the regular Xbox pad.
The Faceless Master said:the L and R triggers are analog, the L and R buttons (formerly black and white) are digital..
face buttons, dunno, but i assume analog...
Bizarro Sun Yat-sen said:They screwed up when they designed the original Xbox pad, then. There was no reason not to use the standard configuration.
Well, the name Dreamcast ended up being good, but if you look at it...especially when first annouced, it's more like a nightmare...i wanted the more cooler japanese sounded name Katana...but i'm sure that would have ended up sounded stupid.morbidaza said:I actually think the Dreamcast had one of the best names of Recent systems.

Red Dolphin said:While there's nothing particularily innovative about the controller (Giant X button is good I suppose) it really has the combination of all the right features. I really like the Bl and Wh buttons have become shoulder buttons now (along with maintaining the triggers).
It hasn't really been brought up, but I can't see how games like SSX would play on this controller. Games like SSX required you to have fingers on all 4 shoulder buttons on the Dual Shock. I can't see how this would be possible (or very comfortable) on this controller. Using your middle fingers on the triggers while using your pointer fingers on the shoulder buttons sounds extremely uncomfortable.
I've always hated using all 4 shoulder buttons on the DS controller at the same time anyway. It just feels odd.
