Samurai Jack should be up in the top 10 IMO.

Way too heavy on the western toons though. And some of their anime picks are stupid as hell. naruto? are you serious?

No comment. Suffice it to say that I think many shows should rate higher than others.

Edit: On second thought, I'm just going to reaffirm my belief that anything over a Top 10 list is completely useless.

84- Spider-Man (1994) - A bit bloody low oh and :lol at Spawn being above Fullmetal Alchemist.

No Ghost in the Shell series, lame, better than bloody Avatar: The Last Airbender.

I can't say I agree with most of the list, but I also dislike Anime so Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, Naruto, etc... are all shit in my book. Also, Family Guy is thumbs down but it's not surprising that it's on there since it's so popular. I have a warm spot in my heart for all the old Nickelodeon cartoons (early 90s) and alot of the shows from Kid's WB since that's what I watched as a child.

Ya know.... The Tick? The Tick is awfully funny. I really enjoy it. But it is *not* top 10.

It has a great schtick, but it's not top 10.

Seems like you should judge shows on an individual basis rather than blanket attack a genre but that's just me.

boondocks is way too low. maybe because the 2nd seasonw as such a disappointment. this list also reminds me i need to watch cowboy bebop. and spiderman 1994 is also kinda low.

Only 3 out of the top 10 I can really agree with, Simpsons, Looney toons, and Futurama.

And please tell me my eyes do not decisive me and Doug is not on that list? I went over it a few times and still haven't seen it.

Pokemon at...70. What the hell. I don't think they quite understand the effect the Pokemon had. I can't image the games being as far as they are without the show.
I'm not saying that its a top 10 or even 25, but for a show that had such a large effect, I think its a bit low.

Oh hell no! Doug kicks the shit out of Sponge Bob and that's in the top 25. IGN fails once again.

1. The Simpsons
I just swallowed my own vommit

Loony Tunes should be 1st, but only the Theatrical ones before the 60s.... not the made for TV ones from the 60s and after

Loony Tunes is eternal (with the exception with satire episodes which are considered to be the weaker ones), overall Loony Tunes can be watched in any time period and be unniversally funny for eternity

The Simpsons however suffers too much from parodies of the day. Relying to much on parodies that are constrained to the flavor of the month of that time period... make it not stand the test of time in the future when people will go "what are they supposed to be satirizing about?"

I don't think you quite understand how fucking terrible it is.

I understand how bad of a show it is, but think of how many people it hooked in. And your going to say that...muppet babies is a more valid choice?

Well, you have other people in the thread laughing at it, as if it's stupid that Pokemon is on there, when it absolutely should be.

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to lol @ Family Guy being on there and it only took the first reply. But I'm glad it's on there, despite what GAF thinks, it's pretty much fact that the show should be on there. It did something impossible for most shows (coming back from cancelation after huge DVD sales), it's a pop culture phenomenon, and again, despite the GAF opinion on it, it's still a much loved and hugely popular show.

The Simpsons has been mediocre for a good 8 years, but it's hard to argue the show being in the top 5.

Not a bad list. Huge props for Spectacular Spider-Man being on the list. A couple more years of the current quality and it will rival Batman. Good to see Invader ZIM on there too.

I would have also put looney tunes first since the material has lasted in some cases 60 years from when it was made. I don't think the Simpsons will be that well regarded in another 50 years or so but I guess these lists are always essentially a stamp in time.

IGN said:
Pokemon -- Don't be afraid to admit that you've watched this show at least once
Naruto -- It's the Japanese version of Harry Potter, based on an old favorite: ninjas
Dragonball z -- Containing some of the most elaborately choreographed fight scenes in cartoon history

I can't stop laughing :lol

This list is horrible, Batman TAS is too low (should be #1), Boondocks should be higher, and family guy is too high.

What is this? I don't even...

For starters, mixing American animation and anime in the same list is a fatal mistake to begin with.

This is a "Top 100 animated series" list not a "Top 100 Most Popular Animated Series We Remember with Rose-tined Glasses" list.

It's horrible because Batman is #2 instead of #1?

Holy shit you people are nerds. :lol

It's amazing how seriously some of you take these fucking lists. It's a top list of CARTOONS. The fact that you're pissed at all puts you in the category of previously said 14 year olds. My goodness.

Seems like a lot of obligatory entries.

Does the writer really get that much enjoyment out of the Flintstones or is it there because it's "classic." I find these kinds of lists pretty dishonest.
