Anyone who has watched the old X-Men series recently knows it doesn't belong anywhere near that high on the list.

If we're being honest with ourselves, X-men shouldn't even rank within the top 100.

the simpsons is both the best and worst show on that list

wheres dragonball???????
It seems to be a list with heavy focus on american series. I'm sure there's loads of nostalgia involved. If adventure, story or animation were the main criteria list would look different I guess. I never liked the simpsons or family guy because I can't stand sitcoms but that's a matter of taste, as always.

the channel 4 countdown was heavy on american series, too. other countries have done some good animation, to be sure, but it's no coincidence. there are a LOT of quality american animated series.

not disputing the american dominance in animation,

just i think dragonball is tons better than dragonball z, and even if thats not the popular opinion, the both deserve to be on the list

One brooding angsty teenage protagonist is bad enough as it is. I don't need five of them to get my mecha fix. My ideal series would be an animated Gundam Sentinel, which has characters whose ages at least kind of make sense.

Besides, UC elitist fo' life, yo.

Yeah, Gundam Wing was all right if it was your first exposure to the Gundam universe.

For those of us who got into it through The original movie trilogy(or if you were lucky enough, the show), it seemed a bit shallow.

Had some cool mecha designs, but the story and characters were.....yeah, not so good.

There's no question that The Simpsons is #1. Seasons 2-9 (yes, 9 is still classic) are so good that no amount of bad seasons could possibly taint its rightful place as the greatest animated series.

I'd put Looney Tunes at #2 rather than Batman, but that's nitpicking. Also, I haven't read the whole list, but if it's true that Rocko's Modern Life is not on there, that is a travesty; that show was the true triumph of early Nickelodeon (it was certainly a million times better than Ren and Stimpy). Hey Arnold! could also stand to be on the list, but it's not an unforgivable omission.

If Family Guy had never been resurrected, it might have deserved a spot fairly low on the list (80's or 90's, maybe); as it stands, I honestly don't believe that it deserves a spot, and it's not due only to my dislike of the show.
