Why haven’t they?

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered is an excellent remaster, so clearly they’re willing to bring their very recent PS4 games to the PS5 with all the modern bells and whistles.

Yet they haven’t with Bloodborne.

Is From Software preventing them? Are they just making us drool so we go nuts for the inevitable Bloodborne 2?

What’s the reason??

Japanstudio helped heavily with blood borne and no longer exist. That is a largely speculated obstacle. Also it’s highly likely they remake it at some point with blue point maybe for ps6 launch, something like that

I also don't think it needs a remaster. It's BC on ps5 and the online servers are still running, which wasn't the case with demon's. The game is also still selling well at 7.5 million, and that was before whatever boost it got from ER. I think Sony/xdev will be focusing their resources on the next FROM game.

A couple of reasons:

- The game simply did not sell as much as Internet thinks (not being hater, i have the plat trophy...)
- Code base is a fu**ing mess, from software was not is nto a good studio in technical terms.

Lol From literally has no say, its I laugh at all those idiot Xbots who think Phil and Arrowhead are negotiating Helldivers 2, ITS ALL SONY, they own the franchise.
Its more than likely that Xdev has its hands full, From is unavailable, Japan Studio is defunct, Bluepoint is busy. AND more importantly a remaster just wont do it justice at this point. Its 100% getting a full remake or maybe Bluepoint really are working on a sequel after all we know its their first time working on a original IP and that technically does fit a sequel. So time will tell. If nothing by 2026, then its a PS6 remake.

Dumb, for its budget, the original sold millions of copies, 8-9(IIRC), it made its money back in the first 3 months, all profit after.
Now look at how the success of Bloodborne, the critical acclaim it received, plus the growing success of games like Dark Souls 3 leading to the huge success of Elden Ring…
Yeah a Remake/Remaster of Bloodborne is 100% worth the investment.

I dislike playing it on the ps5. the technical issues dampen my enjoyment to the point where I don't want to do a second playthrough until it's remastered or patched.

Why did they remake Demon's Souls and not Bloodborne? Maybe because Demon's Souls was older?
Why did they port Sackboy to PC and not Demon's Souls? Maybe because Sumo Digital handled the port?

For Demon's Souls to come to PC either Bluepoint or likely Nixxes has to do it. And it has to reach the top of their priorities list.

The same is true of Bloodborne.

We don't really know what Bluepoint is doing right now other than they're supposedly working on original content, but we don't know if that is all they're doing.

It goes to reason that if they were interested in remaking Demon's Souls, they're also interested in remaking Bloodborne and now that there is a PC strategy for Sony, they're more likely to do it than not.

But I can tell you a God of War Greek Saga remaster/remake makes more sense. God of War 2018 remaster makes more sense. Uncharted remake/reboot/5 makes more sense.

Bloodborne and Day's Gone are in that next echelon below. We'll see how long it takes them to get there and what approach. Bloodborne will hit 10 years next year. A 10th anniversary makes sense. It's also true that Demon's Souls missed its 10th anniversary but was released a year later.

It’s probably a combination of Japan studio being pared down to just Asobi and FROM having some sort of contractual thing that prevents Sony from touching it without their involvement.

Because it's just a matter of subjectivity. Loving a game doesn’t automatically make it a must for remastering—there should be a balance between nostalgia and a solid business case, considering budget constraints and expected returns. For me, I would ask "Why hasn't Sony remastered Killzone 2?"

Sony aren't blind to the demand and the potential revenue it'll bring in. It'll happen. Anyone with an ounce of deductive reasoning should know this. Just a question of when. Maybe 2025 for the 10th anniversary? If they're doing another From collab game then maybe before that? Maybe as a PS6 launch title? We don't know, but it'll happen

I doubt Japan Studios is the obstacle. They never remastered their own games anyway. Gravity Rush, Shadow of the Colossus, and Demon's Souls were remastered/remade by Bluepoint. So the easy solution is to just have Bluepoint remaster BB.

I'd bet their contract with From Software is that only From can update the game, and they asked for an insane amount o money or just don't want to get to it. That's the >only< thing that explains this.
