Five Guys and Shake Shack are better anyways guys. You're not missing much tbh.
I mean, they're also nearly double the price.

Ok, I mean I've only had two roommates that work there and I work in food service and hear stories all the time, but ok bud.
2. Exclusivity: Everything has more appeal when it's not available to everyone, and the exclusivity of In-N-Out has helped the restaurant gain such a rabid following of fans.
The quality control argument is very Shakey. They can open a distro center on the east coast and Wendy's also refrigerates their meat.
It would lose the appeal if it was everywhere. We good over here
Nah I like them plain, they taste healthier and more homemade than any other fries from fast food joint.
Californians kinda ruined it by hyping it way too much. It tasted better when it was a pleasant surprise.
You are so wrong.Good we don't want shit burgers
The article says their expansion to Houston is new for Texas yet there are a few In-N-Outs near me in Austin.
It's amazing that this town has Whataburger, Fuddruckers, Five Guys, Shake Shack and INO. It feels like I entered the cheat code to unlock all burger restaurants.
I'm from socal and think five guys is better. There weren't many in the west coast a few years back I think the push was a recent thing? Either way, I just dislike the whole exclusivity argument. East Coasters should get In-N-Out like we got five guys even if its only so they realize they weren't missing much lol
When you're bragging about a local fast food chain, then you know you're really scrapping the bottom of the food pride barrel lol. Talk up a nice hole in the wall at least, not a fast food joint lol.
I mean, they're also nearly double the price.
The only fast food I think I really love and go through great lengths for is White Castle
As the husband to an In N Out manager, I would hope they stay on the best coast. The company is incredible. The burgers, fries and shakes are great, but the loyalty and strength of the company to their employees is just as good, if not better.

Lmao at all the haters. People literally calling In N Out "shit burgers."
Give me a fucking break.

Lol someone has never lived in a town that has more than 100 people.Hahaha seriously. I've given up fast food except In n Out because its the only fast food that didnt leave me feeling like shit after I ate it up. Also it tastes so damn good. Haters keep eating McDonalds and burger king lmao.
We have Cookout...soooooooooo, y'all can keep your Wal-Mart refrigerated fast food "meal."
Cookout is just better. Two sandwiches. Fries. Hush puppies and a Shake for like 5 bucks.
Habit cost me $10.50 for a meal the one time I went, why does this comparison keep getting made? Literally the cost of a sit down restaurant burger, being compared to a place in the McDonald's cost tier.In-N-Out is an above average burger joint, but the Habit is superior.
Damn right it is!Habit is better anyway
We have both, so I guess we win?We have Five Guys, we good. Keep your cheap burgers.
In-N-Out is an above average burger joint, but the Habit is superior.
We'll have to agree to disagree there my man.As a California/L.A. native who has extensively eaten at both venues, I respectfully disagree. Not that a Double-Char from the Habit is bad or shit or anything like that, but it's hardly a burger I could pick out of a line-up. The Double-Double and animal fries from In-n-Out are just so distinctive (at least to my taste buds) that even thinking of them now as I type is inducing a Pavlovian response a la Homer Simpson.
Also, what's with the comparisons to fast-casual chains like the Habit, Five Guys, or Shake Shack? In-n-Out is a fast food drive-through chain (arguably the best and highest quality fast food chain ever) and half the cost of these places. It's especially vexing as the Habit and Five Guys aren't anything special! (Haven't tried Shake Shack yet... we just got a few here in L.A. and I'm hoping to be blown away as I love a good cheeseburger.)
It's not that in-n-out is bad, it's that it has a cult like status for West Coasters, and once you remove the nostalgia of childhood memories of In-n-out, they are merely good affordable fast food burgers.
