Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will include Nazi imagery, accompanied by a statement that the appearance is not “intended to and should not be construed in any way to condone, glorify, or endorse the beliefs, ideologies, events, actions, persons, or behavior of the Nazi and fascist regimes.”

MachineGames, developer of the upcoming action-adventure title, previously included the symbols and imagery in its Wolfenstein series.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circles features Nazi propaganda posters that can be burned for in-game experience, as well as Nazi officers in authentic uniforms.

The following message is included at the beginning of the game:

“Please note that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a fictional story, inspired by historical events and characters. Names, characters, organizations, locations, and events are either imaginary or depicted in a fictionalized manner, not intended to disrespect any historical or cultural beliefs.

“The story and contents of this game are not intended to and should not be construed in any way to condone, glorify, or endorse the beliefs, ideologies, events, actions, persons, or behavior of the Nazi and fascist regimes, nor any other regimes or to trivialize any war crimes, genocide, and other crimes against humanity.”

While Nazi imagery was removed from German editions of games by law, as of 2019, restrictions on Nazi imagery in media have been relaxed. It’s currently unknown if the German release of the game will feature the imagery.

The title will be released first for Xbox Series X/S and PC on December 9, 2024, before coming to PS5 in spring 2025.

VGC recently got the chance to play three hours of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. We called it “the Indiana Jones adventure the franchise deserves.”

“So far, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle isn’t just the Indiana Jones adventure that fans have waited 40 years for; it’s the video game that the franchise has truly deserved. MachineGames seems to be a match made in heaven for the franchise, and we left our demo extremely keen to play more.”

Guess you have to have a disclaimer for even the most obvious shit these days.

You would think all the war films of the 60's, 70's or 80's never happened. there was the Secret Army TV show. comedies like Allo Allo and Private Schulz lol, as if a game is going to turn you into a Nazi!, they already are anyway before they play the game lol.

Are people so fragile?
Yes, and it's totally a "both sides" thing. I remember some people being really upset about the Wolfenstein reboots, about the fact that you're shooting Nazis. In a Wolfenstein game. There are reactionary fucks across the political/cultural/whatever spectrum. Most people though, just don't bother with the drama, but the age of social media has amplified the fringe voices to an extreme.
