Not everyone. Its pretty much exactly what I expected. Most people are morons.Yeah everyone says this and if you want to know why this game is struggling, just work out the corollary: Everyone expected this game to be less than it is.
Most people are a lot less engaged than you or I. The average gamer doesn't have as much to form their impression on.Not everyone. Its pretty much exactly what I expected. Most people are morons.
Did lesbians even exist in the1930s?
Sure, that's obvious. I wasn't really talking about that though. Mostly commenting on people here that are surprised. They're surprised from a year of willful ignorance. You had to work hard to follow games news on here and not know what this was going to be. I told people it was an immersive sim from the Riddick devs and would just get laughed at. I told people you're an archeologist first and that the game was likely to be more unique than a typical Uncharted style platformer. People laughed for a year and said it sucks and should be 3rd person. Every time they showed the game it was puzzles first. Everyone knew Todd Howard was involved but instead they spent literally 12 months (dev direct was in January) posting the guy with a gay pride shirt. Most people are a lot less engaged than you or I. The average gamer doesn't have as much to form their impression on.
I paid $100 to play 3 days early on Steam. Would’ve got it for free on GP. Worth it! GOTYThe real question is, is this game, or any game for that matter, worth $70? I'm still mad at paying $60 for a game. I am not yet ready for $70 games.
I am not hearing about bugs. If the game is bug free, maybe it is worth $70.
Well yes there is also the problem of people who are far TOO engaged with console war or culture war bullshit as well. I sometimes wonder if people like this really like video games.Sure, that's obvious. I wasn't really talking about that though. Mostly commenting on people here that are surprised. People can continue being surprised in the future if they want to listen to idiots.
Gamepass it if $70 too much.Did lesbians even exist in the1930s?

And have two dozen of outlets with Xbox in the title... wait a second...

I think they were born after the incident of chernobyl, a mutation of normal women. Is this a serious question?
It can't be

Katy Perry invented them in 2008.I think they were born after the incident of chernobyl, a mutation of normal women.

I realize you are being sarcastic, but I think a lot of people don't realize how widespread this was, it was just spoken about in more polite indirect terms, and not an identity. Like no one really talked about what they did behind closed doors, but it was well known that some women would prefer to take "Boston Wives," instead of marrying men.Did lesbians even exist in the1930s?
GOTY, there’s no much competition this year.Too early, you aren't even on a second playthrough. Might become GOAT.

You know how silly you look now? All the tirades about that stuff are now apparently not a big deal lol
I personally never cared if it’s easily ignored, which it looks to be in both cases. It’s literally everywhere unfortunately.
All of this is incredibly stupid. Especially Voss ripping on homie for being insecure, as if that was a statement on all men, like seriously?
It's funny that you guys are too busy seeing yourself in a dig about insecurity
to clock the game's most significant actual attempt to revise Indy for the politically correct; the moment he gives an artifact back to Nawal and says to put it one of HER museums -- an effort to remediate Indy's colonial grave robbing that makes up so much of his adventures. I didn't mind it, as it felt kind of earned based on earlier dialog, but it's still the clearest attempt to "fix" Indy.
No one just comes up with a deaf character for no reason.Dude, just a def old priest and a lesbian?
Like these haven't existed for century's?
How much are you willing to scrape the barrel to try and turn this into a sweet baby DEI complaint.
I've played for 25 hours now and there is nothing to the level of spider man 2 in this.
Just stop now.
That's just another thing to add to the list man. It's just the matter of fact that I can tell who's writing these games. All of this is incredibly stupid. Especially Voss ripping on homie for being insecure, as if that was a statement on all men, like seriously?

Did we play the same game? She never even outright says it, she's just looking for info on a woman she cares about and it's vaguely implied that they love each other, which is absolutely how it would have been handled in that time period. No one was walking around fascist occupied Egypt in 1937 worrying about being a lesbian.
No, this complaint is just stupid. He's calling that particular dude an insecure male. If he made a comment about short men, would you take it as an insinuation that men are short? You're just wrong and dumb about this one.And the insecure male line is such a sad attempt at writing dialogue for a Nazi commander.
That's funny. I just assumed it was a relative or something. It's like when my gay aunt introduced me to her "friend." I just miss these things.Did we play the same game? everything is hyper political to you as well, just as you feel like “you guys” are being too.
So deaf characters can't be in games? No one just comes up with a deaf character for no reason.
Nope. Find me a post where I bitch about politics in a game and ask people to boycott it because "it's offensive" or whatever.
There may be hypersensitive little bitches on the left, but I assure you I have no more patience for them. My position is clearly and consistently that the culture wars and cancel mobs over video games are whiny bitching about nothing. On both sides.
I can have my politics and not be so brainrotted that I'm scouring my games looking for reasons to be offended.
Again, while I'm politically left of the majority of NeoGAF (and fwiw, probably right of everyone on Resetera), my real point here is that the going around trying to stretch thin the meaning of random lines of dialog or the importance of a character's haircut is fucking lame, dude. Like really, this DEI witch hunt stuff is sad and weird and pointless. And very often outright delusional or based on incorrect information.I am not going to scour your post history to find examples, but look man - over the years, there are a few names I always know are going to be hard left in their take and pretentiously dismiss any dissenting opinions, and you are absolutely one of them. It is fine, everyone is entitled to their opinions, I am simply trying to point out how it comes off to ~ half of the board here. I can assure you I am not the only one. Occasionally I comment on culture / political stuff here, but it isn't something I dwell on or have a hard line for - but I doubt anybody would relate my name with that at all.
It's just an offer on some advice about how you come off sometimes. It's all respect dude, sometimes self reflection is needed. I do it plenty as well, and heck, disagree with myself sometimes later. I just noticed when you say stuff about the right, it's always in the same vein of what so many modern leftist have become annoyingly aggravating with - discrediting the opposing thought and not listening to the opposite concerns at all.
All love. Hope your Christmas and holiday season is wonderful.
No one just comes up with a deaf character for no reason.
But I can cleary see the retardation and DEI shit seeping through the cracks.

Like we're wasting time talking about a game character that called another game character "insecure" what the actual fuck, just stop.
The funny thing is they explained why he's going deaf, they mention he fought in WW1.People come up with these stories. It’s called having a bloody imagination.
The real question is why a deaf character triggers you so much. What ‘agenda’ do you imagine is being pushed there? The horrific idea that deaf people exist?
A war veteran with an injury? What kind of woke tokenism is this shit? The funny thing is they explained why he's going deaf, they mention he fought in WW1.
One was even First Lady when this game was set.Did lesbians even exist in the1930s?
I didn't say that. They just made that character deaf for the sake of it because they wanted Indy to give him a record. There was literally no other reason for him to be deaf other than checking an inclusive box.So deaf characters can't be in games?
He isn't deaf, he's hearing impaired from a war injury. How is this different than if he walked with a cane or had a missing hand or whatever?I didn't say that. They just made that character deaf for the sake of it because they wanted Indy to give him a record. There was literally no other reason for him to be deaf other than checking an inclusive box.
Probably got a purple heart for his bravery...purple...ERA...purple hairs...he's hearing impaired from a war injury.
Must every characteristic of a character, such as their age, appearance, profession or set of skills someone how be important to the plot? Or can a character have characteristics that are incidental, in the sense they don't need to be justified in some way by the story being told?I didn't say that. They just made that character deaf for the sake of it because they wanted Indy to give him a record. There was literally no other reason for him to be deaf other than checking an inclusive box.
