Indie Games 2016 [March] Nope, still not done

Don't like the name at all, shame they had to change it. It looks promising though, I saw it awhile back when it was still Umbra.

*xpost from steam thread*

Yo guys! I am going to be putting up a vid later but ASTROKILL is legit! It is one fine ass space combat game. Hard as hell right now, but damn are there some close calls! The audio is excellent as well. It's got that monotonous female voice issues out warnings. Really clinches that imminent danger feeling. "Max velocity reached."

Here's me blasting and barely dodging a mid-sized ship as it's about to explode

And here's me docking/refueling like a gat damn champ:

Didn't realize it was so close to release. Been seeing #ScreenshotSaturday posts for a while.

Did you guys watch the Frozen Synapse 2 quick look?

Considering the interest on that video (200 views), this thread could easily lead to 10% of all online interest! Think about that and click the link!

Here is my Quick Look at ASTROKILL if any of you were interested in seeing some gameplay:

I actually managed to get two video done in one day. That hasn't happened in quite awhile.

Here is another Quick Look of March of the Living:

It's FTL + Zombie Apocalypse, dumped a few hours into it already. I can say with confidence, if you liked FTL you'll like March of the Living.

Grand Strategy layer, economy, Alpha Centauri factions diplomacy system call-out and inspiration. This is shaping up to a very significant upgrade to the first game. They already had one of the most fun and deep multiplayer strategy games on their hands, they seem to be creating a fantastic single player campaign on top.

Completely missed this. It looks awesome. Interesting evolution. I was thinking they would keep the smaller scale and blow out the tactical side.

They do seem to add to that as well. The smoke grenade launcher is a super amazing idea. Hope there are some more of those additions.

The Titan Souls devs released a new game yesterday. Well rather an expanded version of a game jam entry

Telepaint - $2.99 (iOS)
ik6oEr8.gif

http://telepaint.com/

A unique touchscreen puzzle game in which the player activates portals in order to carry walking buckets of paint through numerous, increasingly-complex levels. Simple, accessible gameplay gradually paves the way for mind-bending complexity via a frequent introduction of varied and surprising new mechanics, all accompanied by quirky, fresh music and rhythmic sound effects that sync up to your every action.

Here's the Frozen Synapse 2 trailer

I needs it.

Also - The Division is pretty cool.

Another new feature that will particularly change the multiplayer is what they’re calling “advanced tactics”, a new set of orders that can be programmed into troops to tell them how to react to changing events as they occur: “if X happens, switch to plan Y.” That’s a big change, but smaller ones are in the works as well. “We’re just trying to deal with a few of the problems people have with the first game,” says Hardingham. “We had a problem with people abandoning games, we’re gonna be working really hard to fix that. There was a specific ploy in multiplayer called the distraction ploy¹ that I’m not a particular fan of, we’re getting rid of that.”

<- Crazy. I get programming in my FS now? o.o
I will breath this game.

Crazy that we're getting both Mount and Blade 2 and Frozen Synapse 2 in the same year, they both seem like games that will last me a couple of lifetimes. Trailer looks really good!

It will be odd having mount an blade two coming out. The first game was one of the first steam games I ever played, in fact it was the game that got me into steam back in 08 or so. Kinda like a compete circle that.

I had to do a double take when I saw this, the game seems to bear at least some visual similarities to my old voltorometer games.

Wondering if it's a reference or just an amazing coincidence, the gameplay itself bears no real similarities to mine though. It's highly doubtful that there's any connection obviously, but it is pretty random.

Oh, (completely forgot to add) the dev of March of the Living needs to get his game through greenlight. If you like anything that you saw, consider giving it a vote on greenlight:

Also some sad news, Two Tribes is closing up shop:

Thanks for the thread again Toma and thanks for all the hard work to the other indie enthusiasts that also contribute.

Just found out that Hopoo games, the developer of one of my obsessions from 2014, Risk of Rain, will release their new game Deadbolt in a few days! So... Yeah... Tha's a certain buy for me this month too.

And jumped the shark with Dungeon Souls. Pretty fun for the first few runs. For an Early Access game it shows huge potential.

Did a SitRep piece on Heliborne, now the beast has lumbered into Early Access. Goddamn, that's an ace multiplayer game. Pace and tactics so different to everything else. Bringing a Chinook down on an LZ under fire is amazing. Flares popping, gunships thundering past, ATGMs swinging down in drunk spirals from birds on ridgelines.

Tiny team only *now* having the funds to expand.

I have it on my radar! But multiplayer only makes it a "wait for holidays to buy/play" situation.

It certainly does. How many years are we waiting for it though hehehe

I don't know if I'm doing it right but I just wanted to let you guys know our game, Intergalactic Road Warriors, just launched on Early Access: http://store.steampowered.com/app/435210

It's 10% off at the moment. We'd love to hear what you guys think!

Intergalactic Road Warriors by Turtleblaze (http://turtleblaze.com) is a side scrolling combat racing game set in outer space. A violent grand prix which takes place on a wide range of planets. You have been invited to join this intergalactic tournament, a battle royale to the finish line. Eviscerate opponents in glorious explosions, pass them through black holes or copter your way overhead.

If you win this tournament, you'll be set for life. Maybe that's why it attracts so many racers from all over the galaxy. You'll start with your shitty car and unlock better parts, guns, car paints, decorations by winning races and eviscerating opponents on the battlefield race track.

That looks awesome!

Hmmmmm.... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm... Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm *counts euros in the monthly gaming budget*

For a tenner, or your regional equivalent, it's decent value. Can't wait for them to add in the deck-building element.

Hey man! If you check out the OP it has a little posting guideline so that the magic bot picks it up and posts it for the next thread.

Anyone playing Faeria, by the by? Pretty taken with it.

Writing up a piece on Acaratus. Sadly, a real lack of excitement and spice there.

What's this?

What's this?

Well, Faeria is a rather tasty CCG that bests all the competition by a territory expansion wrinkle. Getting a preview article ready for WG and PT next week, but suffice to say, it's a very accomplished bit of card-driven tactical fare. Highly recommended.

And Acaratus is...well...it's Renaissance Front Mission, but the card and combat mechanics aren't there yet. Should have a preview up on Wargamer by the weekend's sad Sunday evening sigh.

Congrats on the release. Bought (will leave impressions later). How far is the full release?

Thanks a lot for purchasing! The team wants to work on it for 3 more months to get it done, but we need a bunch of people to buy it on Early Access to provide the funding. We've made games before, but this is the first one where we really want to make it a profitable undertaking before we throw a bunch of money at it. It needs to stand on its own.

Please do leave your feedback here or on the Steam community forums and I'll make sure they see it.
