All the retail units have a fan, only prototype sent early didn't.
I ordered from geekbuying too, I'm around n°150/160 in the preorders, no shipment notification yet, maybe I'm on the next batch no idea how big their batches are (50-100 units?)

This is the thing I need to know most. Emulators, native PC etc. will be nice, but I'm interested in primarily this purpose. Please someone report back with actual usage. thanks

Haha. Truthfully I expected this. Thankfully I've learned to never trust anything GPD says and instead listen to the resellers.
I've known for over a week now that IGG were getting hosed again.

Truly, I don't know why they do this. It's like they're actively trying to get a bad rep in West. I remember the only reason I didn't buy it from IGG was because of import taxes. Although as I bought it from a Belgium retailer and considering IGG backers still haven't been sent... I'm not too hopeful to get it in early November.

On reddit, someone had a unit pre-ordered at geekbuying on august 4 shipped, so if they do FIFO, that means all preorder from June and July have been shipped.
Ok- thx. I ordered July 1st so hopefully I get mine soon. I havent received a shipping notice but it sounds like not everyone is.

I guess it depends on the delivery method. Basically, if it's via DHL, you can be sure to get import fees. Especially if you live in a European country. If you order with the normal but long delivery... I think they tag it as a gift.

Communication in general has been fairly average during this whole thing, most updates or answers have had to come from other non native English speaking boards, currently their english speaker the one who answers everyone is at the Global Electronics Fair hosting a booth which explains why there hasn't been much communication the last few days. Still the whole thing hasn't been handled well with bad communication and IndieGoGo backers money helped fund the whole thing and now we are getting it last with a Z8700 not Z8750, Baidu lost their minds when it was delayed by a few days, JP has compensation if it gets delayed and believe GPD lost some money because of the delay, and IndieGoGo gets bad communication with no real answers or half ass answers to certain questions especially with the Z8750.

GPD Win with a Shield form factor is the ideal. I get the DS form factor lets you fit in a pocket, but I always put it in a bag anyway.

Ok- impression thus far.
The size of the unit it nice and the screen is surprisingly decent. The buttons are okay and the analog sticks feel ok. Similar to the Vita's but have a rubbery coating in them. The dpad feels a little weird-like the rubber pads are sticky. It will be interesting to see how well it works.
Played some FF12 IZJS on PCSX 2. Has it set to Direct X 9 using the Intel Hardware witha resolution of 1280X720. Initially everything was running slow but after to messing about, everything started running double seeped despite not using any speed up hacks. Not sure what the issue is but I'm confident I can get it playing decently. Going out some Dolphin next. Might not update for a bit. Need to make dinner and go grocery shopping.

Would you be able to run a suite a benchmarks? If not, that's cool. I realize that this request is a bit much but I'd just like to get the perf difference between an 8750 and a 8700 out of the way.

Well those 40 or so devices are definitely from the JD line.
But it seems weird that a Z8750 would be in one, they'd be making the devices in batches and from what we know currently the last batch made for China would have the Z8700 in it.
Uness those 40 are returned repaired devices which I doubt.

Well prepare yerself for a lot of requests now brainpan.
That said could you tell me the model number of the lcd?
Just go to system settings, type in cleartext and "adjust cleartype text" should pop up.
Click on that, and hit next going through the adjustment pages without changing anything, after you go through 5 pages it should have a page that says "you have finished tuning the text on your monitor even though nothing changed."
Underneath it should show the lcd model number.
Then you can just hit cancel and no settings will change.
Or even finish and everything will stay the same.

Also it doesn't seem to have been posted here but Kendy said that IGG units "should" be shipping next week, so we'll see. Production is already underway.
