Nine Inch Nails (abbreviated as NIN, sometimes stylized as NIИ) is an American industrial rock project, founded in 1988 by Trent Reznor in Cleveland, Ohio. As its main producer, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist, Reznor is the only official member of Nine Inch Nails and remains solely responsible for its direction.

On May 28, 2013, Trent Reznor had this to say:

Trent Reznor said:
I’ve been less than honest about what I’ve really been up to lately. For the last year I’ve been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length Nine Inch Nails record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great. This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again. My forays into film, HTDA and other projects really stimulated me creatively and I decided to focus that energy on taking Nine Inch Nails to a new place. Here we go!

Everything is the weirdest song I think they've ever put out. It's like a terrible B-side to a one hit wonder New Wave band.

Nice, they've released a butt load of singles for this album.

It's cool Trent, you don't need to convince me to buy your shit anymore, I'll just buy it straight up.

I kind of like" Everything". It's something different and not expected but It's far from the worst tracks Trent has done IMO.

I'm not very impressed with the new songs, but I'm more interested in the live show. But they aren't coming to Indy, so I don't think I'll be seeing them, sadly.

Beautiful op! Bought the digital copy from Nin.com. Copy of A is my fav of the three songs released so far, but I do enjoy all of them. Can't wait for full album.

Hope to catch their show in Calgary this year, missed last time.

The last NIN album I bought was The Downward Spiral; I've been reconnecting with music I drifted away from when I was younger. Might pick this up, the two singles were decent.

Play Everything for the youngins and see if they like it :lol

Cool to see you posting here, didn't know you liked NIN at all :] I'll be updating the OP when tracks get posted onto YouTube, so keep an eye on there to see if you like the rest of the album!

Seriously though. 10 days and it hasn't leaked? Damn, Columbia.

I have a feeling the super fake poppy veneer of Everything is just a ploy he's using to fuck with us. On the album I bet you it's going to fit a theme of fabricated happiness and it will all come crashing down on the "protag".

You've been missing out on some good music. Every album Trent has put out has had something great on it. "The Fragile" was my personal favorite.

Weirdly enough, Year Zero is possibly my favorite NIN album (The Fragile is close). Love it's concept and it's powerful experimental sound. So far, the released songs of this album sound a bit "milder" and more straight forward, but there seems to be a lot of diversity between them; possibly a flashback to different times/emotions throughout his career? Complete speculation, but fun to think about.

This is what I reckon, too.

I hope it's not another theme album. I mean that in the Year Zero sense and not the Downward Spiral sense.

I hope its sandwiched between a depressing, wrist-slitting song and an extremely noisy industrial track.

I've only listened to downward spiral, and I like practically every song in there.
Which NIN should I listen to next?
Anything to avoid?

Can't wait... I didn't think we would get another NIN album so soon. This is probably my most anticipated album this year. I'll be making the trek from Chicago to St. Louis to see them. Let's hope it is as amazing as the Lights in the Sky tour.

I absolutely love Copy of A but the other songs are just okay which is par for the course. The last Nine Inch Nails I really loved was And All That Could Have Been / Still. His soundtrack work has been brilliant, though.

I'd say try The Fragile next. It is not quite as fast paced or brutal but is more layered and deep (musically anyway). If you want something more immediate/high energy then go with Year Zero or the Broken EP.

It depends, really. Did you like the guitar heavy tracks the most? Check out Broken.
Were you into the more electronic and poppy stuff? Go with Pretty Hate Machine.
Did you dig the noisy and weird material? The Fragile would be a good way to go.

Every NIN record is different. They each offer something unique that can't really be found elsewhere in the discography.

Or maybe, and here's a shock, he just wanted to try something a bit different? He's obviously, at least to some degree, found some happiness and contentment in his life, and it's being reflected in his music.

I've yet to really listen to some of the singles. It's Trent Reznor....why question it...just buy it.

EDIT: Does the vinyl come with the remix tracks? Hoping so!
