Infamous: Second Son |OT| Smells Like Beanie Spirit

It seems as a whole, they put less effort into "manual" traversal. There's less grab points, and the flow between them isn't what it used to be. Even Smoke's "vent elevators" eliminate the need for it.

That's more of an observation than a complaint. Lovin this game.

i found this to be very true and one small early game complaint i have..

sometimes instead of jumping from a smaller building to a higher building and then climbing the rest of the way up was a pain in the ass compared to just jumping down to street level and finding a vent to catapult you up.

Can we just appreciate Augustine though? It's been a long time since I've hated a villain as much as her. The mo-cap in this game is incredible. Alot of games have villains that you kind of dislike, but Sucker Punch made sure that you'd hate Augustine within the first 30 min of the game.

In addition to less grab points, there's a shit ton of lips on the roofs of buildings that you can get caught under if you're trying to climb up. I remember this happening in the last game a little, but I think it's worse in this one.

She's well executed. All the characters needed more fleshing out though and I personally feel like more cut scenes would have really made Delsin's first game be a solid origin story. Sucker Punch has the gameplay down, a little more variety in the side activities and a better story telling would have made this game unquestionably better in every sense.

Loved that they kept the comic book scenes though.

I don't know about you guys but Radiant Sweep blows all the other power karma bombs out of the water.

I FUCKING LOVE NEON!

Endless Run and Radiant Sweeps and Slowmo Subdues.

Hero run of course.

My evil run is going to be diabolical.

Starting playing this yesterday, just about to get second power. Biggest minor gripe is no shoulder switching. Betty is awesome.

I was laughing when you are trying to go up the Needle and you get a call from her lol..I thought it was great.

Took me a few minutes, dumb me,to figure out the hidden camera thing...when I was switching, there is a broken probe thing on top of a small structure, looking through the phone it was glittering and I thought that was the hidden camera...

Never noticed they add in landmarks in the small box above the minimap. Nice touch.
Almost finished with the game now. This might be my first Platinum :D

I can call you wrong and also call you a neckbeard. Oh wait, that's what the first guy did, not the person you quoted.

"I read a paragraph on logical fallacies, I know what's up with the internets. I'm Aristotle."

The person quoted by the person I quoted was not the person who brought up neckbeards.

And as long as we're going down the me being brilliant by pointing out logical fallacies tangent you started, nice strawman.

I have been enjoying my playthrough so far. I don't know how far into the game I am, but I am enjoying the traversal and the story. I can appreciate complaints about a lack of variety in side missions, but trying to 100% each area is attractive enough and none of the side missions take enough time to feel tedious. Hopefully SP will introduce some different types of missions in future DLC.

I like the combat a lot, but wish that we could switch between powers on the fly.

The crane called Frasier was awesome, since the show Frasier was set in Seattle ( not sure if it was meant to reference it)

Man, I can't do main missions because I have to clear every area before moving on. LOL

I just go from mission marker to mission marker and do everything that I see on the map on the way. This has left me with a lot of districts under 10% but not at 0 but that just gives me more to clean up post-game when I have all the powers.

When is shoulder switching ever needed? In the previous games the camera zoomed in a lot but in this game the camera, even in zoomed in is quite far away.

If there is criticism about the lack of click-stick assignments then that button should have been used for an additional power or something.

Totally agree thats a missed oppertunity for another power, DLC maybe?

I also think the lack of a zoomed in camera is a lil bit of a missed oppertunity when it comes to the graphics. Delsins character model looks great, and the material they use for his jacket looks great, except i cant really see it from a normal viewing distance! Maybe my eyes are getting worse, but it seems like the closer camera would of been nice with these graphics which are stunning.

I also find the icons hard to see on the in game map. So small. Nature of 1080p rez I guess.

So how long does it take to get the confirmation email from Paper Trail?

I used two different emails and nothing yet. It's been over 20 minutes.

Just realised that there are no
"defend the convoy"
missions in the game. Those were fun in the first two games though, even though I know most people despise
escort
missions.

It was almost instant for me.
I was bit bummed when I found out Paper Trails is not complete yet. I'd advise you to wait until it's complete because it's just a cliff hanger for now.

I'm thrilled that this game hasn't thrown any
defense or protection
missions at me. Break the cycle, Sucker Punch. No more of these mission types in sandbox games moving forward.

Anyone know the paper trial answer for
What's your favorite recreational sport?

I've tried everything.

Assuming your wallet has the same picture as mine:
Jet Skiing

I fell through the ground twice, and both times he started swimming and it gave me the return to shore prompt.

lol, I'd rather glitches like that be a thing of the past but that was a clever way to get around the fall through the ground and fall endlessly until reload glitch.

I got to the end of Part 1. I can't upload the info, because there is no account to send it to.

I'll try a third email. So far I've used Yahoo/Gmail.

The paper trail site finally works. Pretty neat idea and looking forward to it all.

I just arrived in
China town?
. Goddamn it's pretty, so pretty. Game controls so well too, love doing neon head-shots but actually prefer traversal with smoke, going through vents, launching with them and trying to get to the next vent before hitting the ground. Used them 3-4 times before I hit the ground and it felt like bloody magic.

My only gripe with this game so far...

Is that, I feel like the characters need more time/missions for the relationship's to grow. First off, I'm 66% into the game. So maybe I'm not far enough (but I assume I am, given I'm 66% done lol). But for instance, you meet Fetch. You do her mission. Then you do ONE main mission with her after you establish the new partnership. And then that's it. They have their quick hook up scene, and I get the sense that she likes Delsin, and he likes her. I figured, okay we'll get some more side missions together later on (or cut scenes to establish this friendship).

But nope. After that, the plot kind of shifted me away from that section and into the Lantern district. I only heard from Fetch once by the phone. And then I didn't see her for hours. I never got anymore missions involving her. But then, when I finally go back to other area, there is a quick cut scene where we meet up briefly. To be clear, I'm not saying I wanted more romance. That's completely irrelevant here. This also applies for other people like Eugene.

I just feel like, they briefly introduce these characters, and then the plot sweeps away to something else, and I don't ever feel like they capitalize on these friendships. Again, I'm only 66% done. So maybe there will be more by the end. But when I had the option to "corrupt" or "redeem" these people, I just expected a bit more then what I've gotten so far.
This is a very tiny gripe. Because I love everything about this game. The characters. The story. The world. The gameplay. EVERYTHING. Totally in love with this game.

Just finished the game, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was shorter than I expected, though. My total playtime was probably about 12 hours and I did/collected everything save for the paper trail stuff.

The powers were well done, although
.....video.....
is a little overpowered. Neon is definitely my favorite.

The story was good, but there were a few things that should have played out a little more.
And I don't understand how Fetch and Eugene made it out of Augustine's trap. I shot at their restraints, but she showed up and seemingly got them before I was finished, so I assumed they were still with her, only to find them back with me a few minutes later. I also wish there was a way to control the weather after the story, like in SR4. It was nice to see sunny weather, but the game looks best in the evening IMO.
Would also have appreciated a way to walk and disable the HUD.

Overall it was a great game, though. It's obviously early on, but ISS is my favorite game so far this year.

Haha, cool. At some point I was running near a wall and then just dipped into the ground. Screened turned black and respawned me after loading as if I died.

That almost happened to me too. I got knocked off of a roof and I clipped into the ground where I landed. Camera freaked out a bit but eventually I popped back up where I should have been. No black screen or loading but it was close.

Finished my good play through and wrapped up to 100% after...started "infamous/evil" play though and will probably just do that leisurely over who knows how long (and not going to be aiming for 100% as i am only replaying for story/evil trophies)

I agree. They should have had full optional side mission paths with the lead characters instead of all the secret agent and hidden camera nonsense.

So I am now on my Evil playthrough on Expert. I forgot to switch it to expert until about 15 minutes into the game but before going to Seattle. Am I okay or screwed?

15 minutes, I'd just restart to be safe. Start a new game. You don't want to play all the way through not to get the trophy.

wow. Can't even log-in with FB. Hopefully Sucker Punch fixes their crappy website.

Is it even worth the trouble? If it's anything like the Cole missions. I guess I'm not missing much.

If I had known being evil was going to be so much fun I would have done it on my first play through.

Neon power spoiler:
people explode when you shoot them in the head

Sucker Punch you magnificent bastards.

Expert is a breeze, especially with the third power. Like total joke status once you get that.

It also helps that Neon isn't total garbage since I'm playing as Good karma.
