Injustice: Gods Among Us |OT| With Super Friends Like These, Who Needs Enemies?

I'd like some character advice. I'm playing on the xbox and I'm using an old controller with the terrible d-pad so I'm mostly trying to use the analog stick(I know). Down Forwards X in the middle of a combo like for Batman are really tough for me to pull off.

I've been trying to use Green Lantern and Sinestro. Any advice if I should be using someone else with the setup I have?

Have you tried changing to alternate controls? Perhaps the more rounded control scheme will benefit you if you have to use the analog stick.

What kind of characters do you like to play in fighters? Green Lantern is an all-around type of character, good zoning and pressure. He's also got some of the easiest combos in the game (his meter burned throw where he bounces the opponent off the ground is easy to connect to a wallbounce [back 3]). Sinestro is the most pure zoning character in the game, not a lot of combos required, but his damage is pretty low. If your directional inputs are a problem, I'd say check out Doomsday, Solomon Grundy, Hawkgirl, and Raven as well.

Yeah I just gave this a shot but seemed to make it more difficult

Back in the MK arcade days I played Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Johnny Cage. I can pull off what I think are decent combos with Green Lantern, around 5-6 hits at 24% ish damage. Only issue I seem to be having is hitting like lanterns might at the end of a string for example.

I hope that Killer Frost gets an Ice alternate

It would be pretty funny for a villain to get a hero skin.

But it's pretty sad to see Wonder Woman and Batman get even more costumes when there are still 8 characters still stuck with only their Regime/Insurgency as their only alt.

I know I'm probably lttp but that's not the Batgirl I want and thinking about skins she'll probably play completely different than what Cass would be like. Now I'm sad.

I hope they go the extra mile with Scorpion.

He needs a pretty heavy redesign, not just to fit the mechanics of this game, but just in general, cause he kinda sucked in MK9.
He also needs new animations, he was one of the first created for that game, and it shows in his kinda bleh animations, even for mocap he felt pretty stiff.

I wonder what they will do with his trait?
The easy way would be to give him some kind of fake block button, and let him cancel his dashes with it.

Id like something more interesting though, like have a demon mode similar to Raven, where he takes his mask off and goes all Ghost Rider on dudes.

Whatever man. That was actually pretty well done physical effects for a show that was on the WB/CW. They could've easily went the usual terrible TV CG route.

Not to mention, I Don't recall doomsday on Smallville ever being on screen long enough to actually say "What a shitty costume!" I remember his appearance during the wedding pretty well done.

Well, just the fact that:

-Its not updated to how it is currently.
-There's still no actual confirmation on the DLC.
-If I remember correctly, it isn't as great graphic wise from PS3/360. I dunno.

Well, I may return the Wii U version for the 360 version then. While I'm not too worried about DLC or looks, I do want the game to be kept up to date. Off-TV play is cool, but support is a bit more important when thinking of the longevity of the game.

Almost done with the STAR Labs. I have 3 stars on everything up to Black Adam's final mission. But seriously...FUCK THAT MISSION! WHoever designed those falling ice blocks can go straight to hell. Not cool when you get hot by one only to get hit by another before having a chance to do anything.

On a side note my favorite missions are the endurance ones because they provide the best oppurtunity to expirement with characters and figure out combos and such. Also..Grundy vs. Batman without grenades was such a bitch. In fact CPU Grundy is just...

Loving the game though. Huge step up from MK vs. DC

yeah you really only saw glimpses of him in the beginning and he looked pretty good with the way they lit him.

Smallville had some decent costumes and his season 11 comic book look is alright. It's still missing the trunks but at least it looks better than his new 52 look/MoS look.

I imagine his classic costume will probably end up looking similar to his season finale cgi costume anyway since it's essentially a touched up version of the Returns suit with most of the stupid taken out and the colors would meld better with Injustice's art direction.

I'd like Welling's likeness since I'm not really a fan of how Supes looks in injustice but I doubt they would go that far.

Does anybody have a tier breakdown of the characters? I read a bunch of people saying Sinestro was low-tier and was wondering if there was a full breakdown anywhere.

So has NeatherRealm said anything about the Wii U version and playing online with your friends? Cause my brother just got the game and I jumped on to play him yesterday only to discover that I couldn't find out how to do it.

Nope. Hector Sanchez said during launch week that they were working on a patch, but now he isn't responding to my tweets.

The reason folks say that about Sinestro is he apparently used to be a demon out there, but in the final update on launch day his final build came through and his moves had far more recovery. He now is very weak to good pressuring...especially when cornered. He's not a bad character though by far. He's just not as safe with some of his tools as he apparently used to be.

Good zoner and he interferes with interactible attemps really well with his boulder.

I dont think tier lists this early are even close to accurate. Their are some easy picks though for easiest entry level characters with good rewards. Green Lantern immediately comes to mind there.

Thing is folks barely seem to understand defense and mobility in this game so far so making tier lists...yeah not worth bothering with till we understand how to move and stay safe because how can you know who has advantages if you dont even know what a standard style of movement should be vs various tactics yet?

Ive seen too many sets and final fours where folks failed to use clash properly and failed to block then dash properly. No one seems to get approaches yet.

So happy I waited on the season pass. I have been burned on far too many lately as I've been suckered into thinking that I'm getting something good, and I end up with disappointment / delays / lack of content / broken promises. Still plan on getting Lobo next week, but definitely skipping on the other three. (so much wasted opportunity, goodbye chances of Blue Beetle, Martian Manhunter, Booster Gold, Zatanna, etc.)

For this reason I'm not buying any third party games on the Wii U going forward if I have even a tiny bit of concern that the game isn't going to be fully supported. I'm glad Ubisoft did right with ZombiU, Assassin's Creed 3, and the other games they put out. I have no problem at all buying AC4 and Watch_Dogs from them as a result.

Tiers will be quite volatile until someone discovers the inevitable stupid rushdown or dry strategy that most of the cast lose to.

The only characters thus far who have that kind of potential are Batman (Bats and endless pressure) and Killer Frost (Vortex). Current super good characters like Aquaman will drop when they are left in the dust by the good strategies.

Those silhouettes were never really meant to represent characters, people just went crazy when they saw one that had a few more details than the rest. Maybe it was just Boon trolling.

True, they were placeholders, but one was clearly was the outline of MMH. Completely unnecessary if he wasn't in. You don't antagonize your fans like that.

I doubt Aquaman can ever drop far. His block on second hit ability negates most anything other than zoning strategies folks could use on him and he's already a beast vs zoners with that low trident already.

Hard to say how stuff will happen, especially if we gat patches.

As far as rushdown goes, pushblock is underused right now.

You apparently don't know Boon. He's known for trolling his fans since the very first Mortal Kombat. It's his persona.

THIS. Its a fucking lifesaver as Green Arrow. My wakeup options are fairly limited and Pusblock helps me not only escape pressure, but start pushing them back to the corner again.

Boon was trolling fans before Ono was even making games.

The whole think with Rain having an attract mode video but not actually being playable is still hilarious.

All I got for the Vernal Equinox was this stupid tag
So are there definitely more people playing the PS3 version? My finger is hovering over the order button on the TRU website.

I play on the Wii U and I somehow don't have any trouble finding matches. So regardless of which has more players, I'm sure PS3 and 360 both have plenty of people playing.

But I'd go with PS3 over 360 on account of the controller isn't awful for fighting games.

I would think so, plenty of my friends have it on PS3 including me. Also, there's a lot more people GAF who own it on PS3.

PS3 has always been more populated in my experience for fighting games. I usually buy em for both xbox and ps3 but have no idea about wiiu, i'm thinkin of getting it for off tv play though!

OK GAF, I've had enough people message me about my "shitty connection" in this game, so clear some stuff up about latency for me.

I'm not super-knowledgeable about networking and such, but I've always been under the impression that just because someone has a high-bandwidth connection like FiOS or something, it doesn't always correlate with low latency to the extent that lag must always be caused by the other person having a shitty connection/downloading porn/whatever, right? Like, your packets travel through a lot of different places to get to their destination, and if something isn't on the up and up somewhere along the line, it's going to reflect in your ping no matter how much your daddy pays for your bandwidth.

That's correct. Obviously, not having 3 roommates downloading Game of Thrones torrents while you're playing will help, but it's not going to fix routing issues in a datacenter a couple hundred miles away. Or that you were matched with someone a couple hundred miles away to begin with.
