Some of my favourite memories of Battlefield are throwing down health packs and reviving teammates over and over to refund tickets on the meat grinder maps on rush. I could've done with an smg in that scenario.
And snipers are shit at spotting anyway.
I see the Battlefield subreddit is losing the minds over this, but I will reserve judgement until the game launches.
I can recall when there were 15 people sitting at the back of the map on each team spamming mortars. People will gravitate to overpowered things, so the only solution is to make everything viable.

That's what I've read. If that is the case, then they shouldn't have you select a timeframe to get in considering anyone would be waiting for a while past their start time.

It's good, there are some adjustments to be made but overall it's very solid. Feels like BF3's Back to Karkand for the maps I played.

Remake Battlefield 2 (pc era battlefield) or bad company 2, or battlefield 3 and 4(after patches).
Seriously , its not hard, they have history of good games to go back on from before the woke era.
Bf1 was the turning point of shitting going downhill. while not a bad game, they focused on woke stuff and historcial inaccuracies. It started here and it was released in 2016, woke era started 2014. Shit got pushed.
But Bf5 took the cake. They had to push identity politics and intersectional feminism in a war game. Making disabled woman fight in the front line. A woman and her daughter taking over a water plant in ww2 Norway, taking the place of a squadron of men... nothing to see here folks, lol. It was all ridiculous.
They loved that esg money and pushed woke feminism hard. IT didn't turn out for them and rightfully so.
All they needed to do was create a new graphics version of battlefield 1942, or its smaller psn game 1943!
BF 1943 was in fact my favorite in terms of pure fun for multiplayer. It was simple and easy to jump in and out. I loved it.
As for my favorite single player , that would be BF bad company 2.
If they wanted diversity make a new battlefield bad company game, which bf1 and 2 were already diverse.
If they wanted modern war, make it like BF3 and 4, but with better graphics and some new game modes. Why change it to appease era and reddit rejects?
Best bf games: BF 1942, Vietnam, BF2 ,BF3, BAD company 1 & 2, BF4, BF1943.
I have no faith that they learned their lesson or can make a good game anymore. It's sad, with BF tanking and Cod going woke and fort-nity, I don't play online fps anymore at all. BF5 was their last chance, and while they did try to correct ship, the damage was already done.

BF1 still has the best atmosphere and hardcore gunplay of all the BF games.
Ill agree things went downhill from there, but thats only BFV and 2042.
BF1 was legit amazing, the DLC was all hard hitting, and after they made it free and all the gamemodes filled up again, it was like heaven.
Dunno waht woke shit you saw in BF1 cuz I cant remember any, beyond BF3/4 its the Battlefield game i put the most hours into, even more the BC2.

Invert vertical is bugged, you have to change mouse and keyboard to invert as well for it to work FYI

I haven't played it yet, but based on videos I feel like the game is missing a hook or some features to really give it that wow factor you expect from a new BF game. Revamped Levolution and dynamic weather events could have done that but it seems like that stuff isn't in there.

Played for about 30 minutes. I'll play more tonight.
To me, it finally seems that DICE has finally got their shit together. To me, it moves smoother than BF4. Gunplay feels crispy too. I'm really liking what I'm experiencing.

I actually prefer the smaller maps and putting a lot of lead downrange with LMGs

the pre-alpha has a ton of bugs, it really does feel like internal playtesting so expect lots of random issues all over
the graphics are underwhelming, it runs amazing in 120hz, its not 120fps but really smooth probably in the 80-90 range, the map and detail is sharp but overall it just doesnt feel like a true current gen powerhouse like their games used to be. that era is long gone and those engineers have left and created the finals/arc raiders. you guys have to understand that the entire CORE dice team had left after BF1 and then the rest of the talent after BF5, 2042 was made by a junior team that mostly never shipped a game before. this one is better but i encourage all of you to download the finals and play the intro, its so obvious the old core DICE made that from the gfx to the explosions and destruction. its so polished and impressive and reminds me of old bf games due to the people behind it.
the gunplay is good, the game doest not feel too janky, the maps are miles better than 2042 and it feels like bf4 with updated graphics
i will wait for public beta to decide if i want to preorder this, i got burned hard with 2042 and their 100$ edition, that game was a travesty
it seems like all the attachments are unlocked so you can experiment and have fun with all the guns but the descriptive texts missing informing you what each attachment does unfortunately
overall a solid 7/10 with a potential to get to 8-9/10 by the time public beta drops. it needs a ton of bug fixing to be fully enjoed
i made peace with the fact that the core team that made our favorite Battlefield entries is long gone and when the talent leaves you have a shell of its former self in regards to DICE.

Server performance is horrific for me, almost unplayable, like I'm 5 frames behind everyone else, takes a whole clip to kill people, and I die in 1 frame, so in that regard its like every other bf game for me
And yeh doesn't look amazing, bf1 and bfv look better imo, but it is an alpha, destruction is OK, no where near what I expected it be.
Sound is amazing when it actually syncs to what actually happening on screen
It's very very junky for me, hopefully it gets better over the weekend performance wise, but I have a feeling it won't Improve for me even on full release. Unless someone has some idea as to why bf games alway have shit online performance for me

. So shit servers and mental aim assist for console peasants, makes for a not very enjoyable experience, as said if it ran decent for me it would a fun game

Aim assist is really low, you dont even feel it at all. Its either not working or just really subtle. No ADS sens setting really screwed me over. Tbh I'm just making excuses as to why it feels like shit for me I.e. they get aim assist, must be the reason I'm getting shit on......standard pc behaviour.
I just want it to run smooth for me, so I can have a proper feel for it, it's 100% a packet loss thing, nonidea how to solve tho
