MindsEye gameplay trailer - Introducing MindsEye

Gunplay looks pretty bad, even binary domain has better hit reactions and gore for the robots and that is a ps3 game ffs.

I need to see more.

I thought this has looked ok since first reveal.

The preview from last week I was watching (can't remember who it was) however, made it sound like it needs a lot more time to cook.

Hoping it surprises!

Its really fucking annoying when we need more cool AA games in the industry, people are shitting in this left and right.

Not every game needs to be a GTA masterpiece to be fun.

And it looks vastly better than anything Ubisoft has put out in years.

Nevermind the fact we barely get a fun third person cover shooter at all anymore.

But yeah lets shit on this game because its not polished like a Rockstar game.

Hilarious you are willing to give this game a chance when it legit seems like they are dropping us with two missions (Honor Among Thieves and Friendly Fire) a bunch of surely not great races, a horde mode and basically nothing else while they actually finish the game.

Same trailer goes on to describe how they will let PC players make more stuff to do in the game.

But a voice actor talking about DragonAge getting a harsh prerelease reception................

I dunno man, sounds like its a free to play game where PC players will make the other gunplay scenarios and races but otherwise there isnt actually a game here........
I await to be proven wrong.......but if they are legit dropping so few actual missions and some open world racing bullshit, the reviews arent going to be great and even free to play I cant imagine people sticking around long enough for them to finish the game.

Reminds me of all the action games we got during the PS360 era. Definitely picking it up, even if it does have bad reviews.

Why do all the weapons sound like airsoft guns? The shooting itself looks fine but the sfx are very underwhelming

Also based on that roadmap this should just stay in the oven for another year. Or at least the Benz should troll and move it to GTA VI's original fall 2025 date.

Binary Domain boring ??!
All i remember from that game is great action set pieces and emerging from the sewers underneath the city directly into some rich people restaurant which i found very fun at the time.
I also played it on Xbox BC not long ago and he is right, plus them reusing that annoying robot gorilla boss fight a handful of times throughout the game did it no favors as well.

Anyone looking to have fun shooting robots in a quirky Japanese game is better off playing Vanquish.

This could be a good thing or a bad thing. Hopefully the game is actually finished at launch.
That chart is a bit confusing to me ngl, the game at launch will only have 3 missions and a bunch of races and then more will be added throughout the year or am I reading it wrong?

I'm quite interested in this game, I feel like we don't have enough AAA singleplayer 3rd person shooters nowadays so as long as the reviews said the game is relatively bug free, even if the story was mid I'd give it a go. But if I'm reading that chart right then I'll pass after all.

No thank you. I've seen everything I needed to see in this gameplay trailer. Won't be wasting my money on this even during a sale.

2 missions? Like the whole campaign is 2 missions?

It's weird that they're focused a lot on the story and basic table stakes TPS portion when the more interesting part of the game is the free roam open world stuff that we've seen very little off so far. Even the drone is kind of building off Killzone Shadowfall.

This preview makes things seem pretty grim though

And it looks like Leslie took all the shitty Rockstar vibes with him lol :messenger_grimmacing_

So this is an early access game. When your main feature at launch is "Single player Free Roam", you are fucked. A few races and 3 missions? Wow, such content...

This is just the stuff that they are adding with the "free" season pass. *I think*

Aside from the trailer in this thread (which isnt even that great) the marketing has been nothing short of fucking awful.

What about $150M+ (There's early rounds that I don't believe have been disclosed) and ~500 staff says that this is AA?
Yes that raise was for both Minds Eye and Everywhere but really, if this game bombs, Everywhere is is DOA.

Game looks bland AF, zero personality and the best they could show is a trailer with a bored sounding AI-like VO sounding like he's trying to sell you a mid-range car that has pop out cup holders.

Nah they are just the extra missions included in the "free pass" if im readings it right that is.

WTF is a free pass......isnt that just part of the game?
Does this single player game have a battlepass?

Man this game comes out in what 2 weeks.....and we dont even know if we are getting a complete story or what?

The more I read and see about the game the more it gives me the willies.

Lol, 150m, you think thats AAA?

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Last of us 2 reportedly cost 200-220 so…….yeah not far off AAA
Considering the 150m isnt for just Mindseye, its not AAA.

Also, who the fuck cares how many A's we put on a game? Thats for the publishers, and their stupid shit.

We have to look, is the game fun? Not, how much did the game cost to make?

If you'd have read the detail of my post you would have noticed that it was at LEAST $150M (and sure $150M is still within a stones throw of AAA), their total raise isn't fully available.

Another source puts it at $309M so is that any better or are we still to treat these guys as scrappy underdogs?

It was pretty straightforward until the last minute when it suddenly went

- Unique content delivery system (???)
- Entered via portals or through the menu (????)
- enables access to the open world (????)
- "continuous stream of new gameplay" (???)
- "this is the home of infinite entertainment" (???????????????)

Refuses to elaborate on anything, just ends the trailer with a "pre order now".

150M for the whole company is not the same as 150M to develop this game.
Not trying to excuse it, just saying I'd be surprised if even half that money was used to develop this game.
My bet is that more than half that money probably went into the development of "Everywhere" (which is happening in tandem with MindsEye I know) which god knows how that will turn out.
