I bought Gesundheit years ago and only now started to get more into it. It is great so far.

Contemplating buying Final Fanrasy VI now, I just want confirmation that it got a good story.

I have that, never got around to playing it

Who's Bronxsta? Never heard of that dude :p

I finally picked up Minecraft with the new release and there is a memory bug in it :( apparently they're working on a fix, I hope it comes soon because I was just getting into it.

When do you think Square Enix will have another sale? Maybe Christmas?

Thinking about picking up DQVIII, even though I may regret it.
There latest games tend to go on sale when a new one hits.

Anybody have any thoughts on steelseries stratus? It seems tiny and not for long gaming, but the form factor seems like something you can toss in a bag nicely unlike most full size controller.

can get a refurb for $50 on ebay

Just got it. It works great with gta San Andreas and the sonic ports. Also great for jet set radio. I have a Logitech ultra thin keyboard case that props the iPad mini up nicely on my lap allowing me to have my hands free for the controller. The one drawback about the stratus is you aren't going to be able to use the triggers/bumpers together easily. It's easy to have your fingers on one set but not both.

I'm on deep water when it comes to the new MFI controllers for the iOS devices. So which is a great controller I can plug onto my iPhone when I'm on the go? I would like it for games like San Andreas and maybe Monster Hunter.

yeah i gather from looking at it, think ill mostly be using it for emulators and platformers, so it shouldn't be an issue.

OTTTD any good? looks like kingdom rush but with a squad instead of heroes?
Yes, I enjoy it. The skill trees and different weapons add nice variety to the gameplay. Graphics are colorful and cartoon-y, enemy are diverse. It is Kingdom Rush-esque, but I prefer OTTTD's aesthetic and gameplay quirks

Is there still no music in the pocket version? I also kind fo want to finally pick it up now that it has infinite worlds, but need the atmosphere the music creates, I think...

Still playing Retry. It's safe to say this is the Trials of one touch games. It's not a twitch game; completing and then mastering levels requires skill and practice. For example, like in Trials, you need to learn how to "hill climb".

Okay, I know this is completely OT, but maybe someone can help me still.

I want to access the shared files of my Windows 8 PC on my iOS device. Does anyone know a good app for that? So far all I can find is File Browser, which connects to my PC just fine, but is useless in the free version and is a little too expensive for my liking in the full version (5.49€). Any alternatives?

Hi guys/gals!

I just released my first game on the App Store for iPhone yesterday. It was originally developed back in 2012 when I was in college, but was never released. It's called Box Bounce! and it's free! The overall premise for the game is pretty simple, bounce and destroy as many blocks (increasing your multiplier) as you can in a 60 second timeframe. Yellow blocks give you +2 to your multiplier and green blocks give you +2 to the multiplier and +5 seconds back on the clock. The game gets tougher as time decreases and when you die/make it to the end your score will be multiplied by your highest multiplier during that session.

App Store Link

There are two difference modes, Arcade & Classic.

Classic - is the easy mode per-say (it's how the game was originally made). Just bounce on as many blocks as you can while the game gets tougher.
Arcade - you'll have to multi-task a bit and swipe left/right to match incoming blocks colors (or you lose your multiplier).

The game supports leaderboards for Game Center. I currently have the Classic high-score with 70,758,453 points and 2nd place for Arcade with 41,671,818.

The controls take a little bit to get used to. The controls were inspired by Tiny Wings, so if you've played that, you'll get it right off the bat.
It's nothing special, but I'm proud of it and would totally appreciate if you gave it a try!

I can't decide if I should get FF6, FF1, Tactics, The World Ends With You or another expensive game.

6 and tactics. I don't see the appeal in 1 myself, and TWEWY is only good if you're REALLY into Japanese youth culture, otherwise you might just gouge out all your sensory organs.

Such bullshit. TWEWY is really goods did you even bother playing past week 1?

I haven't played it on ios, but I finished the game on handheld and I got very little out of it. To me it always threatened to "get good" but it never really did.

And yes I realise I'm not praising a much loved game either, so I'm not going to get anywhere. But I really think it is one of those games that isn't for everybody.

Not saying that everyone has to find it amazing, but saying it is only good if you are into Japanese youth culture (and that the art/sound) suck is really off considering how many people liked it without being into Japanese youth culture.

OTTTD is IGN's Free Game of the Month:

Really enjoying this game. Someone recommended it a few days ago so it was great for IGN to give it away for free.

At first I found it a bit difficult to get into, but once the mechanics click it's really good. I like that you can ditch incrementally upgrading towers and just evolve it straight away (if you have the funds). You can greater customise your Heroes in this with weapons, armour, skills and power ups. You also can have up to 3 of the battlefield. It's quite challenging too. The enemies are quite varied also. It's a bit fiddly sometimes moving your Heroes on a small screen. But it seems a meaty game. It has IAP though nothing intrusive.

I spent about 40 hours on it I think, never really enjoyed it and was constantly annoyed by the story elements. The combat was OK but tbh it often just felt like a lot of scribbling. I was hanging on so much because I was waiting for it to get awesome like everyone said it would.

I also resented how big it was installed because of the uncompressed music. If I could have chosen to have no music and have it be 1.5 gigs smaller I probably would have thought more favorably of it ;)

Oh come on man, value judgements aside, the youth culture Shibuya aspect is all pervasive and a very strong aesthetic through the game, same as the music. Personally, I could not connect with those elements. I think this game would be much better appreciated by someone who is into Japanese culture.

The TWEWY x animu discussion again. :lol Jedeyeeee. (Honestly, I do think it's a fair warning.)

Anyway, I got back to FF4 again after a while. I'm at the
Lunar Subterrane
and man, the final stretch in traditional FF games is usually such a drag now that I think about it. Reason why I never even finished FF3 and just youtubed the ending in XIII-2 too (granted, XIII-2 had been getting on my nerves earlier on. FF3 was mostly because the save system was ass). I'm enjoying 4 a lot but I can see this maze getting tiring after a while. I'll definitely beat it though.

I've backed down from saying that it's shit, but I feel it's important to give a Japan warning for it still :)

And for FF4 I stopped when I got to the moon too, it just reached the level of pain in the arse hard that I had enough of it. I thought 6 was a lot more interesting through to the end.

I've had this game on my phone since 2011 and still have not played it. I should really change that at some point.

Made a thread but it flopped, so I'll ask here:

Why are iOS devices so unreliable with game saves? (And how do you fix that?)

Was finishing up The Room 2, it crashed... And my save is gone!
Similar ocurrences have happened to me before with Infinity Blade, PvZ2, Kingdom Rush, King of Dragon Pass (gutted), World Of Goo, Scribblenauts, Superbrothers and Ghost Trick.

It's fucking unacceptable.

About to embark on a Monster Hunter FU playthrough and this possibility is very frightening, considering the nature of the game.

Am I alone in this?

Bought Final Fantasy Tactics today. I have an idea of what I'm getting into, as I tried out the GBA version when I were a kid (at that time I were completely bored) I just hope there's a good story that goes along with it. I'm mostly into Final Fantasy because of the stories.

You're in for a real threat, awesome story and great game.

I couldn't say, my experience hasn't been anywhere near this bad and I've been playing iOS games for years. But if you want extra assurance, make sure you backup your saves on a PC using an iOS file browser like ifunbox.

I have had a Game Over screen 3 times in the second stage of Final Fantasy Tactics already!

I love the artistic styles in the cutscenes and the story seems to be somewhat interesting. But this buggers me.

We are 2 up against 5 thieves and one of the keeps using potions on his friends.

Grr...

I can only say I've been playing across various iphones and ipads for years... and I've never lost a single save.

I know that doesn't help you, but I also haven't heard of the problem so maybe it is your device?

There are a few more party members you can add on the party select screen.

Doubt it has it's happened both on my iPhone4 and my iPad3. Jailbreaking them made it better, though, as TR2 is the first time it's happened ever since I did it a year ago.

The only time I recall losing a save in all the time I've been playing on iOS was with Tiny Death Star, but that game was a bit of a buggy mess. I can't guess where the issue could be coming from, my experience with saves has actually been the opposite lately, with deleted games retaining their save data due to cloud saving and whatnot. I still make save backups of most of what I delete from my devices, but it would be extremely annoying to have them disappearing out of the blue like that. I hope you find a way of fixing that, Z.
