Okay, so TouchTone is fascinating. The actual puzzles are not very complicated. Challenging but not that complex. It's reflecting and splitting beams. The presentation is slick and manipulating the tiles is effortless.

But the real reason to check out TouchTone is its story. It's like BlackBar in that sense. The puzzle core is fun but the framework is the truly compelling element. You - yes, you - are a loyal citizen taking part in a government program focused on protecting national security. You piece together info from emails and phone conversations and other private communication to figure out if there is a threat. A story emerges.

Downloaded Four Letters earlier today (the benefits of also having an NZ account). I'm enjoying it a lot. It's less a word game and more of twitchy recognition game. Compared to something like Word Mage or LEX, Four Letters presents you with a string of...four letters and you must tap out the word they spell, all against the clock. Correctly spelling words grants you some time, but time is not on your side. Four Letters quickly becomes a challenge for your mind and fingers, as you race to figure out what the letters spell and then tap them in the correct order. It's a colorful and challenging test of skill definitely worth checking out

Totally. It nails that little intersection between "Why am I still going?" and "I can't stop playing."

It seems to be as demanding or as casual as you want it to be. Perfect for waiting rooms, when you want something mentally engaging.

Four Letters indeed is a nice little game.
It has a nice clean UI and the premise is simple but addicting.

Shame the multiplayer bit is through Facebook though, wish I could just challenge a friend without it.

Yeah, I won't hook an app up to Facebook but I will challenge friends through gamecenter.

We chose Facebook (in the first instance) to be more cross platform, though we may expand down the track.

If it helps, the game doesn't spam your Facebook wall or send out requests at all (you send out any requests manually).

So, has anyone played Magenta Arcade, Chromaticon or Kromacellik?

All three look enticing to me but really need to dial back my spending. Just thought I'd see if there's any impressions on them.

Guys, you're going to want to remember Blitz Breaker. It's currently in development; I've been playing it recently and I can say that this is going to be up there with Gunbrick as one of the best IOS platformers of 2015 and definitely one of the best precision platformers on mobile

It's everything you'd want out of a Super Meat Boy-style game built from the ground up for mobile. No buttons getting in the way, just tap to jump and swipe to dash across the screen. The mechanics and hazards are varied and tricky, and the controls are responsive.

Keep an eye out for this one

This looks awesome, thanks for sharing. Any idea on a release ETA?

"can mobile gaming be called a positive influence on a whole?"
Now that's one fun thread!

Not really worth including the link, I'm sure you can imagine the typical responses

End of 2015 according to the dev's IndieDB page

Finished the single player campaign of Power Rangers Unite. Recommend playing it. IAPs aren't intrusive or needed. Difficulty is a little up and down and can be quite tricky at times but it's really fun and great if you're a fan. Surprised no one else is talking about it on here. Thought there was a healthy dose of PR fans on GAF. Looking forwards to additions and updates.

So, I finished Lost Sounds earlier today and it gets a bit better towards the end. Some of those levels are really gorgeous and the music is a real treat. Still, it's no monument valley but it's good (for what it is).

Does anyone else play Heroes Charge? It's so good it needs a Gaf Guild for me to join. And an OT

I've been playing that for a bit now. Enjoyable little timewaster although I gotta admit that since hitting the 40s progress has slowed to a trickle which is making is hard to go back to as time goes on.

I've gotten into the habit of only playing at certain times of the day. Before I go to work I run through Crusade mode for cash. I spend some of that on skill levelling and then do any raiding I need to do. Normally elite mode at this point. If I have time I do a time rift and trial. At 9am I spend some cash when the merchant refreshes. At 12 I do the same and spend my recharged stamina and free 60 stamina on whatever. Normally I just pick a fairly high normal and raid with every spare stamina point. Evening the same with merchant plus I make sure I'm in the 4000s in arena (I'm saving up for a death knight to make crusade mode easier). I'm currently 48. The thing that slows you down the most for me is a lack of exp items. Thanks to crusade and pvp I've unlocked quite a few extra heroes. Most of them aren't worth bothering with but you really do need a few teams at some point. What works best in crusade mode doesn't really work well in pvp. Trials need different types of teams too.

I also make sure I run through as many dailies as possible for the extra team xp. It's already gotten my more addicted than stuff like Puzzle and Dragons ever did.

Baseball Kings 2015 is on sale for free. It's a surprisingly fun little baseball game. No team licensing, but still a nice diversion.

Poco Eco got a well deserved Gold award from Pocket Gamer. It's ashame a lot of people are writing it off as a lesser Monument Valley clone. No, it doesn't deserve the all time classic status that MV does, but it still is a fabulous game with it's completely different and beautiful graphical style and a fantastic soundtrack. The only thing it has in common with MV is being a more artsy experience. As with MV the puzzles really aren't difficult, even though one took me a while to figure out.

Hope more people check it out.

Honestly, come to think of it, the soundtrack alone is worth the $2.99. Do NOT play this game on mute.

Man oh man, that looks fucking awesome. Hyped.

So anyone here playing Mr. Jump? Don't be put off by the comparisons to Flappy Bird that sites are making; it's a platformer in the vein of Kid Tripp from 1Button. They've been my go-to devs for fun and challenging minimalist puzzle games for a few years now, so rest assured that anything from them is quality

The game has been downloaded 5 million times since releasing last week. It's free with an IAP to unlock levels and to remove ads. The developer said this on the choice of F2P model
"As gamers ourselves, we are not really into these pay-to-win models. They kind of ruin the experience".

I've played it. Pretty fun but Kid Tripp is miles better IMO. Still definitely worth a download.

Also wanted to recommend Beast Towers that came out yesterday. Doesn't bring a whole lot new to the table and has an open playing field like the original Fieldrunners. Few little twists like beating bosses that will then be on your side. Also like how you can use barrels swiping in a line to build your maze. It's incredibly polished and highly enjoyable and only $. 99 (launch price) with zero IAPs. If you like TDs, it's definitely recommended.

Yeah a few of us got to play it early. Been receiving so many GC requests due to my position on the leaderboard, incredibly annoying. Kid Tripp is one of my favourite games on iOS so I was bound to like Mr Jump. Although having beat the game's 12 levels I do think that the gameplay has more in common with Geometry Dash.
