Music you've purchased through iTunes is stored on your account and be restored whenever you want. Music is only stored otherwise if you get in on "iTunes Match" which is coming out later.
 
Scribblenauts won't start up on my 4S, the app crashes/goes to desktop on the startup splash screen everytime. Worked fine on my 3GS, everything else works fine on my 4S

Just threw this together. Quick medium-low-light test.(It's resized but not enhanced)

Not a direct comparison to the 4 but the noise in the out-of-focus portion especially is pretty damn impressive for a little cell phone. This thing is going to revive the photographer within. Because the best camera is the one that's with you and all that...

The 4S is quite capable of some impressive macro shots. Has the aperture been increased? It seems to be able to get quite a shallow depth of field, especially close up.
 
So there's a $50 difference in getting the 4S compared to the 4 for my upgrade. Good deal or stick with the 4? I haven't seen enough of Siri to be that impressed yet so I might have to be wow'ed. The camera is pretty nice though.

When I hold down the home button to activate Siri it immediately ends a split second later .. every time .. what am I doing wrong?

Even when I'm already in the Siri UI and just press the mic it'll immediately end. Doesn't give me a chance to even talk.

You might be holding it down too long?

Just hold the phone up to your ear and Siri works without the button press.

Go for the 4s, better processor, camera and antenna system are worth it imo.

Dude, for $50, you gotta go with the 4S. Even if you think there's not much feature difference, the resale value will be worth more than the $50 you save now...

Nah, I was just tapping the mic and it would end in a split second.

So I just toggled Siri off then on again and now she works. Weird.
 
All I get for Siri is "Sorry I am having trouble connecting to the network." with full 3G and wifi.

They should really fall back to the native voice commands at that point.

Siri's personality is fucking awesome, i'm guessing because it's a changing 'organism' with all the various inputs it's receiving and pushing up to the cloud. Still awesome just for the illusion of AI alone.

Speaking of which, will they let me take the phone home in its box so that I can activate it myself? They BETTER let me do this or I'll be pissssseeeeddddd.

So any other Android --> iOS folks out there? Just wondering if you feel you've made the right choice. I'm very apprehensive of leaving Android :p

If they follow procedure then they won't let you take it sealed in box. Who knows though who you'll get.

Shoot....I knew I should have just gotten it from Apple.com, but I wanted those reward points. I swear, if they do anything beyond activation I'm going to be upset. I wish they would let me :(

You know, maybe they changed. When I worked there we had to do it because the iPhones were "bricked" until you plugged them into a computer with iTunes. Maybe policy is different now with iOS5 (though we still had to activate every other phone so maybe there is no change).

The WP keyboard is great. I also like its word suggestion feature more than the iPhone's. Somewhat related:

I have a JB tweak with my IP4 so it loads apps faster than my 4S. Personally, I don't notice the speed difference. But, I do hate how video is separate from IPod app now.
 
I'm getting my dad a 4s today, when I register his phone will his photo stream iCloud photos go to my macbook like my phone does? or does his phone have to be registered under my apple ID also?
 
Dumb question but can I walk into a Verizon store and get a 4S? I want to switch over to them but I've got a family plan and I'm the only one in need of an iPhone, everyone else would want a different phone. All I've seen mentioned is people's experiences at the Apple Store.
 
Anyone ever have this issue? I gave my mom my new iPhone 4s and I took her old iPhone 4, but now I can't use iTunes Match / Homesharing / Automatic Downloads cause of this crap 90 day wait.

So I bought the phone yesterday and it is my first iphone, but I think my battery is messed up. I charged my phone last night to 100% before I went to bed and let it sit over night, when I woke up 7hrs later it was down to 21% battery life, that's not normal is it?

Disable fetching. Double click the home button. Remove all the apps. See if you get any battery drain. If still yes, do a restore through iTunes.

You have apps running in the background. Facebook in particular drains the shit out of your battery.

There was an issue where my work updated their Exchange servers/settings and people using the old settings on their iPhone saw their battery die within hours. Email worked just fine, but since the phone was constantly pinging the server every second because of some weird timeout and/or fetch request, it made half a dozen people's phones lose their charge like crazy.
