AbsoluteZero said:But now I'm nervous as fuck that the "iPhone 5" is going to turn into some 5" monstrosity like a lot of the Android phones I see on the market these days. Hopefully by the time they announce it I have time to buy the 64GB 4S if necessary.
Soulscribe said:They need to just stay away from tapered designs PERIOD.
Zefah said:Do you really think Apple would do something like this? I certainly don't.
Fixit observed that the battery inside the iPhone 4S is rated at 5.3W-h (Watt-hour) capacity, slightly more than the 5.25W-h of the batteries used in both the AT&T and Verizon iPhone 4 models of 2010 and early 2011.
I also wonder if those iPhone 4 stats don't take into account iOS5 and iCloud. It's not like they'd change the official iPhone 4 stats to take into consideration new OSs, but in the case of iPhone 4S, iOS5 comes pre-installed, so it would have to consider it.FantasticMrFoxdie said:Hmm...these battery life comments have me worried.
Apparently its a slightly better battery..
The hardware and maybe the kinks in the software are draining it pretty quickly.
dream said:Not if they're not doing anything (and most won't be).
Really, when it comes to iOS, don't worry about managing tasks -- just let the system take care of it for you.

AbsoluteZero said:All people were bitching about when the 4S was released is how it wasn't big enough for them. I'm sure "BIGGER SCREEN" will be one of the bullet points in the "5", and to be frank anything bigger than the current iPhone is just too goddamn big.
Zefah said:I really don't think they'll change the screen size for the foreseeable future. They really don't need to. It would be a bitch to get a new screen size and resolution that both look amazing and don't break existing apps or make them look terrible.

nib95 said:Honestly, screen size is the only thing holding me back right now. It is just too damn small. Is it useable, sure, but extra size during web browsing (maybe even higher resolution too) would just make things all that more user friendly and easy on the eyes.
You dont get it yet. It reminds me of the early 2000s "why text when you can call?? derp."Patrick Bateman said:Why not just call her, then?
quadriplegicjon said:Uh, I already explained why. I was busy with shit.. walking, listening to my music when she texted me about buying cleaning stuff. I was able to respond several times without ever having to pull out my phone. Should I have told her that the conversation was too important to be done over txt messages?
Sean said:3.5" is the ideal screen size imo, once you start going larger, many people would not be able to use the phone one handed anymore.
Screen size is the only thing to remain constant on iPhone since it launched. Literally everything on the inside and outside has been changed except that.
Why would anyone do this? Seems like a strange conspiracy theory to have.nib95 said:Just seems like an excuse to justify the paltry current 3.5" screen.
When messages come in, they play the notification sound as usual and Siri is not automatic (as it should be). You have to opt in to Siri with a button press. Ask her to read it: "Read". After that, no more button pushes, it's all conversation. "Reply", "Edit" etc.KennyLinder said:It sounds great, can't wait to try it out. Do you have to press the button on the iPhone headphones to kick off Siri working again, or can you just say "reply"?

nib95 said:I think this is just something people who only use iPhones say. Many handsets old and new are and have been bigger. Heck, even the Blackberry which seems popular among girls I know is actually wider. Honestly, I've never met anyone who thought the iPhone was too big. I mean, my mum uses a Galaxy S2 and she's tiny, has no problems at all.
My only problem with these headphones is that they don't feel like they'll last, that's why I've ended up sticking with the Apple headphones most of the time.chickdigger802 said:klipsch s4i. A bit expensive, but why spend the big money on a premium phone if your gonna skimp out on headphones ;P
I know. Have a iPod Touch 1G and when I read NeoGAF (secondapps works brilliantly) the text is too small in landscape so I have to zoom in. With the retina display it's possible to read it without zooming in in portrait. Text is insanely sharp.Karud said:Switching from a 3GS I have to say, the "Retina" display on the 4S is amazing. The grade of details on such a tiny screen is fantastic. Now I rather have a 3,5" retina display, than a 4" display with the same resolution.
It shows the answer on old Dot matrix printer paper? Lol.PortTwo said:
Nice, works just as advertised. I know some were quoting you and acting like this is something weird to do, but it just makes sense when you're busy and hands free. I setup my existing mail address and can receive mail just fine, but it won't notify me of the mails unless I click on mail and then it dings. I've set it to push and fetch and my settings indicate it should be notifying me of mails...but it's not. Which is a bit annoying since I just have to constantly check to see if I have anything new.
Other than that, it's great. Spent a good hour playing around with Siri today.
