iPhone 4S |OT|

It's like a suit.. You don't want to wear white as often as you wear your darker/black suits. And you have the phone with you every single day. Think about that!

Ok, ok, I'm grasping at straws, but I'm sticking with black!
 
Going for a white iPhone almost burned me so never again. I'll always get the black one from now on.

If he had stuck with AT&T he could have kept both and swapped out the sim to whichever color he wanted to use for that day.

So right before the iPhone 4 launched, and during the preorders, the white iPhone suddenly vanishes without any word from Apple of what's going on. I hold off on preordering because of that since I wanted a white iPhone. Even leading up to the launch there was very little info of what was going on with the white iPhone; possible supply issues. So the night before the iPhone 4 launches, there were still speculation that maybe Apple would have a small quantity available at their stores. So I go to wait in line at 9pm the night before since my wife wanted to upgrade to an iPhone 4 from a 3G. We spend the night there with Woz to get her an iPhone 4 and only one for me if they had white available, otherwise I was going to wait.

It comes down to about 30 min before we are allowed in the Apple store that I decide to cave and get it now rather than wait for the rumored month or two wait for the white. Had I waited, we all know what happened with the white iPhone. I would probably not have picked up the iPhone 4 and each month I'd be thinking, "It's gotta drop soon, I waited this long...."

I'm so glad I didn't hold out for white.

Hey Verizon, you realize I'm not going to get jack shit accomplished today, or even tomorrow, if you don't send me an email telling me you've shipped my order, right?

Ya, but I still hold a huge grudge that I could have missed out on using this awesome phone for months. It's no more reasonable than your internal debate of which color to get =)
 
I gotta say, I'm kind of glad I'm going to be camping out in front of the Verizon store in the early hours of Friday morning. It sounds preferable to driving myself insane waiting for a shipment notification.

Ha, I'd checked mine several times today and finally just got my shipping email a couple minutes ago. I was starting to think I'd be getting it late. I ordered about 7:30 AM last Friday, incidentally.

Ok, well, I ordered mine right around 9:00AM EST. Maybe there's a common trend with the model? I got the White 64G for what it's worth.

According to the rep I spoke with on the phone, some of the people who ordered from Apple's website are getting phones that are shipping from inside the US. Those orders are apparently going to be sent via overnight shipping on Thursday.
 
Got my shipping email from Verizon at 8 AM this morning. Mines shipping through UPS.

Yet when I go to track the package, UPS says they can't find that tracking number... 0_0

That's normal. Give it a little bit of time. I had the same thing with my Sprint order, but a few hours later the tracking number worked just fine.

No, they just created/paid for the label. The location won't be updated until UPS scans it, which probably will be sometime later today considering it's 2nd Day Air.

I often send stuff with UPS through work and can drop off packages as late as 8pm for UPS to pick up for a next day delivery. Even then UPS doesn't always their tracking info until way later. Don't sweat it, it'll be alright.

I'm glad Gary will be providing some form of schadenfreude on Friday... whether that's getting the phone at all or fretting over the color.

Considering the Canadian carriers are fuckups and I don't expect my phone will arrive that day, it'll be good to have something to popcorn.gif.

Just got my shipment notification. Hopefully it shows up before I leave for Idaho for ten days on Friday!
 
I'm buying a black iphone 4S then swapping the back glass plate with a white one when they are available. or vice versa grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Ugh, UPS. I remember I had the day Halo Reach came out off from school, and was so excited to be able to play all day. Fuckin UPS delivers it at 6:00PM. Smh, hopefully it doesn't go like that for the iPhone.

That's how UPS always is for me too. I was hoping Verizon would use FedEx instead, but what can ya do.
 
Didn't pre-order, what do you think it's gonna be like on launch day at the stores? Seems like it'll be better than previous iPhone launches, spread across three carriers this time.
