Leave the DS at home and play games on your iPhone!
Problem solved and I just saved you space in your pockets!

I cant tell if my battery life is typical or nt, this is my first iPhone. However, I thought these things had killer battery life and so far mine seems comparable to my palm pre :/frico said:My battery life is still horrible. Down to 90% after 18 minutes of usage. Also, lots of reports on twitter now of really bad battery life. I wonder if I got a bum phone.

Evlar said:Previously I was carrying: keys (left pocket), phone (also left pocket, it was a cheap dumbphone), iPod Touch (right pocket), earbuds (right pocket), wallet (rear pocket).
The new iPhone is taking the place of the iPod Touch, and only my keys in the left pocket. Still getting used to feeling like I'm forgetting something.
Anyone have a good solution for carrying around earbuds? They get slowly destroyed just coiled up in my pocket, and of course they're always tied in knots when I need them.

and I'm sure it should cost peanuts to get something similar for any pair.

SonnyBoy said:I purchased two pairs of those and they die quickly too. The case is cool if ur not keeping it in ur pocket. It's way too bulky. However, the no-tangle Beats by Dre buds have done good by me.

Does AT&T unlock iPhones post-contract these days? (living in Japan, so I'm not sure of the answer)
LyleLanley said:ATT doesn't do that right now, but given that both Sprint and Verizon can and will unlock the phone for people who want to travel abroad, I wouldn't be surprised if ATT adds that feature soon.
RubxQub said:What are you doing on your phone? Max brightness intense gaming or just browsing the internet or what?
Almost regardless that seems overly quick to me, but curious.
I'd definitely bring it in to an Apple Store and see what they say. Wouldn't be shocked if they swap it right there and then if they've got the inventory.frico said:That is the odd part. I read emails for about 20 minutes and lost 20% of my battery life. Very frustrating. Brightness is at less than half and I don't game in my phone.

Sounds very similar to something that happened to my friend's sister, but her phone had just taken a bath in ice water that fell on the table.DickSauce said:Well looks like I got a bum iphone 4s. The home button didn't work at all on saturday. It works now but i have other problems. The sound cuts out and my phone seriously can't be shut off. I shut it down and it automatically restarts every single time. Going to take it back tomorrow for an exchange or something.
RubxQub said:Keys/wallet in left pocket, phone in right pocket. Always!
Also acceptable. Nothing loose and scratchy on the iPhone side is all that REALLY matters.aktham said:Keys would mess up the wallet that way.
Keys on the right, Wallet and phone on the left![]()

Do you have that box checked when it's tethered to the computer with a cable? I don't think restoring from a backup would carry over that attribute, but I may be wrong (assuming that is what you did?)Gary Whitta said:My new phone won't sync with iTunes over wifi, the old one had no problem.

The wifi box is checked. When I unplug the phone it disappears from iTunes' device list, whereas on my old 4 it would stay there to allow for wifi syncing.RubxQub said:Do you have that box checked when it's tethered to the computer with a cable? It throwing some funny error or just never doing it?
Hmmph... and you upgraded your iTunes to the proper 10.5 or the developer 10.51?Gary Whitta said:The wifi box is checked. When I unplug the phone it disappears from iTunes' device list, whereas on my old 4 it would stay there to allow for wifi syncing.
Facetime, multitasking on the phone, notifications on the phone (this is a BIG upgrade if you your phone frequently and don't like being interrupted for text messages or whatever), Siri, vastly improved photo and video recording, more capability for running high-process apps (games and such).TedNindo said:So I own an Iphone 3G and an Ipad 1. What would I be able to do on a 4GS that I can't do right now that justifies me buying one for 799?
also beware when pulling up your pants after a shit (or a sit-down pee if you roll like that). the flip out of the back pocket is the most common end among my surveyed friends.AbsoluteZero said:Typically my 3DS is in my left pocket, keys in my right pocket, wallet in right rear.
That leaves the left rear, but I'm afraid I'll put the phone back there one day and forget its there and crack the screen by sitting on it.
RubxQub said:Throw the keys in there with the 3DS, all the important crap is covered up anyways, right? Scratch it to hell!
