I'll be doing the same in a few weeks once the newness anxiety has worn off and I just start tossing it in my pocket with my keys.leng jai said:I'm digging my naked/naked combo. It makes it look like an iPhone.

Eggo said:Earlier In this thread, didn't we have some Blackberry users who missed the red light that flashed when you received a new email on a Blackberry? Apparently, there's a setting that causes your iPhone to flash the camera when you get an alert. Settings -> General -> Accessibility -> LED Flash for Alerts (On)
I've used it sporadically just to test it out and it flashes (very brightly) whenever I would normally receive a push notification for me (email, IM from Beejive, text are some examples).leng jai said:Just tried it. Seems to only flash during the call which makes it utterly useless.
I'm guessing if it flashed at regular intervals whenever you had an alert or notification that was unviewed, it would kill your battery quickly if you don't notice it.leng jai said:Just tried it. Seems to only flash during the call which makes it utterly useless.

Unfortunately, it didn't arrive on time. I got my $3.99 back already; but I don't think I'll get the case tomorrow in time before I leave for the weekend :-(
Thanks, Cloudy! I'm actually getting one off eBay US (I live in Saudi Arabia) and theCloudy said:I haven't taken many videos (about 3) but I have 81 apps and 200+ songs and there's still 16gb left. If you have the extra $100, 64gb will get you better resale value later but it's not a necessity at all

My MBP remains on the charger all the time and when I checked it just now, by changing it from displaying time to percentage, it was sitting at 96% instead of 100%. I'll be out of town this weekend so I'll let the battery monitor run to see if the battery really is the culprit or if it's an electrical outlet issue. Regardless, since it hasn't been two weeks yet, I'll probably get it replaced since its capacity maybe borked by now.

Yup, just make a backup! Though I've heard that sometimes gamesaves can get screwed up.The Lamonster said:So if I went to the Apple store to get a new iPhone because mine has a dead pixel, would I be able to retain all my data/apps/settings/contacts etc?
2GB is a lot. You'll be fine. There are some apps (games mostly) that can be quite big at 100-200mb+ territory that you'll probably want to download via wifi as to not use up a big chunk of your cap using data. You wouldn't really want to download something that big on 3G anyways due to how long it'd take.kid ness said:My first iPhone's coming in the mail. I signed up with a 2GB data plan per month, am I going to have to limit everything I do? I don't stream much video, but I listen to a lot of music on last.fm, pandora, soundcloud, etc. I just have no idea what 2GB means in terms of a months use.
And should I be downloading apps on my computer then putting them on my phone or does downloading them to my phone cost on the data plan? I'm in the US btw.

Chuck said:So I caught my phone red handed draining its battery whilst on the charger. Who knows how much this has screwed up my battery since I bought it... Anyway, I was tired of not being able to prove this bullshit was happening on its own so I downloaded batteryLogger Pro last night and let it monitor my battery in the background. As I suspected, it will out of the blue start draining (when it's at 100% charged and running on electricity instead of battery) to ~90% or so before it begins to recharge itself.

Well you can't download something that big over 3G anyways.criesofthepast said:2GB is a lot. You'll be fine. The Lamonster said:It seems to save all attachments I've downloaded - i.e. when I view an older e-mail, that attachment is still downloaded and still available. I wonder where it is storing these files and how to delete them...
Tobor said:I believe they're cached until you delete the email, or it falls outside the limit you set. Mine is set to show 50 recent, so once the email becomes the 51st, it and the attachment is removed from the cache but left on the server.

Does anyone have any experience with the Tunelink? Are there better options out there?
