Is anyone else addicted to hot sauce?

Sriracha just makes everything taste like Sriracha. It's fine on bad or bland food but on pretty much everything else it's overrated in my opinion.

I used to put it on these cheap pizzas we'd get 4 larges for $20 when we were drunk. They tasted awful until the sriracha hit.

If you mean that weak stuff Americans use, no. It's like pepper flavored ketchup.

If you mean our local special, like scorpion pepper, then yes

There's a such thing as pepper flavored Ketchup? I would murder like 6 bucks for that.

My fiancée and I have ~10 different hot sauces in our fridge at the moment, from extremely mild like Crystal and Tobasco, to Dave's Ultimate Insanity. If we really want to add heat to a dish, we've got some carolina reaper pepper flakes that we can add.

Secret Aardvark is one of the tastiest hot sauces I've used, though it's not all that hot. We've started creating our own clone of it, though ours is not quite as sweet and has a bit more heat.

I sleep next to a bottle of hot sauce.

My girlfriend thought it was a little weird but she said that she knows a few guys who do that, so I guess it's not that weird????

I've never ever heard of that.

Wait is it like to defend yourself from intruders? I don't get it.

Wait, you literally sleep next to a bottle of hot sauce? How has your girlfriend met more than one person that does this?

I prefer Tabasco, but this is what I've been using lately. It's quite good, the heat is decent and it has a nice flavour.

Do you like need it just in case you have an emergency burrito at 3 am without going to the kitchen?

Is the smell soothing to you to help you sleep?

Is it to ward off demons and vampires because of the multiple monster repelling ingredients?

Are you addicted to tums, but only take them when you have acid reflux so you drink hot sauce nightly to cause it?

I too have become one of those people that just puts hot sauce on almost everything. And why shouldn't I? Give me a good reason. You can't.

Is it for naughty bed time activities, spicing up the love life?

Is it actually a Mexican Genie lamp and you're afraid someone will find out?

High salt content is bad for you is a decent reason I guess.

Me! I have a problem, yeah. I use spicy sauce almost on everything I eat. Doesn't help that I'm Peruvian and we love our spicy stuff. My mom can't stand watching me pour that sauce all over my food when we eat outside.

I loved this one when I was in the US, and I also fell in love with Sriracha, which, sadly, I can't find here :(

Hahahahahahaha oh my god, you guys are killing me

The answer is pretty much the burrito thing, but replace burrito with quesadillas. Love me some quesadillas.

And I dunno how she's met several guys who do that! I guess it's secretly been a common thing for a while *shrugs*

I am addicted to hot sauces. Frank's, Cholula, Tapatio, Gringo Bandito, and Red Rooster.

I have found myself just sitting around popping the the cap off of a bottle of Frank's and just smelling it. It smells amazing.

Is it like the connection between you and your gf's ex's, when a new boyfriend arrives you summon each other to fight like Scott Pilgrim vs The World.

NVM saw your reply.

Acceptable.

I do this to pickled banana peppers every time I go to the fridge. It triggers my Salivary gland like no other thing can.

I haven't had this since I was a kid but every summer vacation down in Florida would look forward to buying a shitload and putting it on everything.

This one looks interesting. Want to try it.

I love Tapatio, Cholula and Siracha. I also love any type of Habenero sauce but I don't have any brand loyalty in regard to that.

Fort Minor should definitely purchase this company.

It has pretty good reviews too. This'll be the third bottle I pick up from in here.

I go in spurts.

I usually love the green goop at Chipotle.

I will routinely get into modes where I put this on everything i'm eating though:

That would make my life pretty damn more awesome, not gonna lie

Hot sauce of choice is Tabasco. Perfect mix of taste and kick. I burn through a bottle and a half a week.

I can handle the tough Hispanic hot sauces or those home made carnival "test your might" ones, but I think they taste gross so no thanks. I also hate Sriracha. But Frank's is p cool

Honestly I haven't had it in about a decade but if I close my eyes and think about it I can still kinda taste it. I should get some shipped to Canada. Not sure if any stores here sell it - I haven't seen it on shelves.

Because we only have one kind of hot sauce in America and everyone uses it. Nice generalization.

Frank's and Sriracha are good for spicing up mediocre food but I tend to like a stronger hot sauce so that I don't drown out the flavor of what I'm eating.

I've been more into Caribbean style hot sauces lately. I like this one we have locally:

But one place has all these Marie Sharp's sauces and they are freaking great:

I could see this being an issue if you were chugging it half a bottle at a time. A generous drizzle doesnt have the quantity to be a health concern.

I have probably 4-5 tablespoons a day, 25-30% DV just in hotsauce. Not too bad I guess.

Isn't this just original with like a buttery texture? I've heard that somewhere.

Tabasco is probably like my #6 or 7 sauce. I have to be at a restaurant before I use it basically.

It's on amazon so I'm trying it for sure.

OP, have you just recently discovered hot sauce? When I started using it as an adult, I went full on for like a year and a half. The initial excitement has calmed down and I use it with a lot of meals depending on what it is. Not nearly as bad as what you described, though.

I'm well pasted the point of addiction. Shit like tobassco, Franks, Cholula, etc tastes like ketchup.

Give me straight habenero or hotter. On everything.

I feel like I've heard about that Aardvark sauce a bunch. I think I need to try it, something about it looks good.

No I've picked up the pace a bit in the past year or so but I've been eating hot sauce since I was a little kid and my step-dad would trick me into eating it so he could watch me suffer.

Get yourself something hotter so you can stop drenching your food in hot sauce. You should be adding a couple drops to something, not using it like ketchup.

Also Frank's sucks.

Not sure how well it fits in this thread but Spicy Chili Crisp is my current addiction:

This stuff is sold at Chinese markets for less than $3 a bottle. Amazing on anything and even straight out of the bottle.

Definitely disagree. I use it on just about every meal (vegan) and I think it enhances the taste instead of replacing. I've tried meals without it and they're still tasty, just much better with the addition of Sriracha. Nice blend of flavor and spice, especially on dishes with rice and potato.

Noooooooooooooooooo

I like my food swimming in hot sauce. My quesadillas for example:
- Hot sauce inside the tortilla
- Hot sauce on top
- Hot sauce on bottom
- Dipping hot sauce

10/10
