Alls the ones I've played all seemed to have graphical problems. Either the frame rate is too low, the animations are too stiff, or they are low res/blurry. I guess doing a race game with 20 plus cars iisn't easy. Also for some reason the control always sucks. I know F1 cars stick to the road like glue but come-on , give me a little play with the car to make it fun...it is a game after all.
The only F1 cars I enjoyed were the F1 cars in the GT games.
The formula cars in GT3 were pretty incredible to drive. More exciting and responsive than any other formula type game in my experience. In GT4 the formula cars seem a bit faster, but they can lose grip a lot more easily, especially on the more uneven road courses. Formula + Nurburgring is a nightmare of a challenge at speed.
For console he's probably right...nothing I've seen touches Grand Prix Challenge (F1 2002 is a fucking joke in comparison, can't imagine '99-2002 improved things much). Still, PC's probably where it's at for F1 games.

As for 99-02 being a "fucking joke" ...... well lets just say that there are so many mods for that game its like getting 20 games for free, all better than the original.
Grand Prix Legends (by the legends at papyrus) is the best sim, Grand Prix 4 is good, but 99-02 is king in my opinion.
Consoles just arent good for F1 anymore, you can thank sony for that and their big fucking money hat.

Well shoot, I didn't say PC. :lol I meant the PS2 version. To be honest I haven't seen it, but I did make the mistake of buying the PS2 version of F1 2002 and was stunned by how bad it looked.I know all about the mod scene for the PC versions of 2002 and 99-02 (as well as the other F1 games), which is why I said PC is the place to go for F1 games.
