jubei was a different guy though. dont know if you've ever seen "black rain", but he was the villain in that movie. the guy died shortly after he did that movie thogugh, 1989 i think. jubei was based on him.

I can see how Spiegels look could be influenced by him, his fighting is a weird mesh of Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan though.

Yeah, I noticed this just yesterday when I saw HotFD. It only pertains to Onimusha 3 I believe; the first 2 games based the main character's appearance off another actor (not sure if O1 and O2 use the same guy). I haven't thoroughly played any of them to really know offhand.

As for the movie itself, I enjoyed quite a bit, but more on account of the visual style. After watching a series of independent, artsy movies, a martial arts movie can go a long way. That said, the movie is weak on the story and has a muddled ending of sorts.

Karasu, what's Chungking Express about? I'd venture to look it up myself, save for the fact that I'm on lowly dial-up for the holidays.

Actually, the u should be virtually silent (not completely silent, but virtually silent). The voice actors had it right from what I remember, though it has been a while. It should be read basically as Samanoske.

haha.. rented onimusha 3 last night. Turned off subtitles originally so I missed the entire paris exchange . Game rocks too.

Takeshi Kanishiro also starrs in Returners which i also rented last night.
