Yeah, Palestinians are certainly an ethnicity. If anything Arabs are not a proper ethnic group. Really, (like you say) Arabs are a pan-ethnic group that share a common linguistic identity. But, for example, Kuwaitis and Palestinians are completely different people's from an ethnic point of view.

That's an unfortunate situation, but I still don't think people get a pass for murdering civilians. That couple wasn't an active part of the government or its military. They may have a valid grievance, but murder isn't an acceptable way to address it. The reasoning you gave doesn't excuse violent, criminal behavior, and the killings do more harm than good for their cause.

Jesus...this is like black people in America. If oppressed people never get justice and get continually oppressed and murdered, how long are they supposed to take it before reacting to their oppression with violence?

Black people in America are citizens and have the right to vote. Though the GOP is trying to limit their access.

Israel refuses a one state solution because they would lose their political majority and refuses to work a two state solution out as well.

These attackers committed murder and for that they deserve punishment. This act was not in wartime or in self defense. Even if you subscribe to them being freedom fighters this was not ethically right. These settlers aren't innocent but they aren't deserving of murder.

With that said that isnt where this conversation should end.

If we are to accept that international laws have weight then these settlers are violating them. Willingly and openly.

Furthermore the occupying power is acting as a catalyst for these actions by way of supporting, protecting, and expanding these illegal settlements. Not to mention failing to address grievances and act in good faith with the occupied.

Just because you believe you have a religious right to a piece of land doesnt allow you to ignore international law and violate basic human rights to attain it.

To me the momentum toward actions that transpire surrounding the settlements starts and ends with Israel. Issues with settlements wouldn't happen if they didn't ok and support their creation. And they would end if they got rid of them. So while Israel is not responsible for the murders, they are responsible for furthering illegal and aggressive actions toward the occupied that create the violent reprisals and counters we continue to see.

Israel legitimacy comes from a religious book. I respect religions to a certain limit but it is as ridiculous as any extremist interpretation of the Quran.
A land was given by the United Nations, they should accept it as it is (was) and keep low profile without taking out of their asses GW Bush bureaucracy-style theories about Nukes targeting them.

I would argue that the indigenous people in those areas are more like in the shoes of the people in Palestine. They are struggling against current colonization, and dispossession of their lands, whether those settler states acknowledge it or not.

Two Israeli males were killed while a 22-year-old woman, along with her two-year-old baby, were wounded Saturday night by a Palestinian attacker in the Old City of Jerusalem near Lions' Gate.

The two males, one of whom was the baby's father, were evacuated to hospital in critical condition and later declared dead. The baby was lightly wounded and the mother was in moderate-serious condition.
