It's been exactly 2 months since Destiny launched - what are your thoughts on it?

Well Im very disapointed about how group/clans can't be managed in game still. And the limit too how many there can be in a clan is too low.
And there are still no matchmaking for endgame pve stuff.
Its a must too use the app or computer too set up raids probably now and this shouldnt be the case 2014.
Using gearchecks and mic checks should be doable in matchmaking.
Things like a this makes the game harder too just pick up and play unike something like Diablo.

Playing it daily, love it. All the dissapointing shit waned after the first month and now i can enjoy the game for what it is.

I have a Hunter and a Warlock both at level 27. The only piece of content I haven't tried is the raid mostly because I don't have a large team to do it with yet. Other than that I've done everything else it has to offer. Only reason I keep coming back is that the gameplay is tight and fun but now I'm just waiting until the DLC drops. Even then I doubt I'll put in a lot of time into the endgame once its finished. PVP is ok its just usually hit and miss with me. I still want to believe that something cool is gonna come out of this like a complete 2.0 changing update or anything really but I guess this is all we're gonna get. This game man.

It's grown on me slowly but I really like it. The story is non-existent but the world and gun play are great.

I only play it once or twice a week with friends, that's enough to keep it fresh. If I was playing it everyday like people were at launch I'm sure I'd be burnt out too.

I only got up to the moon before I stopped.

I do mean to finish the main campaign, I'd just rather be playing other games so who knows if I'll ever find time to go back to it.

Had a blast with it until I got to level 28, all legendary and exotic weapons and armour, done everything but finish the raid, then got bored of the RNG, lack of customisation, and pitiful lack of content once you get to the higher levels.

Really wish it's been even half what we were promised. The future DLC packs are hugely over priced for the pitiful amount of new stuff they apparently give, and the forced linear progression of levelling being tied to armour means everyone just ends up looking identical after a while, and just allows you to get even more gear everyone else doing the same thing is getting. There's a great game in here somewhere, but it's clearly just a hollow, gutted shell of what it was supposed to be.

Huge disappointment and shallow overall, but damned fun gameplay you just can't get enough of. Like if Nintendo made a gritty Sci Fi shooter really.

Now the dust has settled, I'd say it's a decent but cynically made 7/10

Just another game I bought that I expected to be fun and smooth, but riddled with bugs and an unpleasant experience like every other triple-A game on the market. No thanks.

I had expected to be as engrossed with it as I was with diablo 3.
I was disappointed. It's still pretty fun but it wouldn't bother me at all if it got deleted from my PS4

Just one massive disappointment. Logged in with my 27 Titan on the weekend and there is absolutely nothing to do. Just the same shit over and over again. This game could have been so huge and good but Bungie fucked up with their promises. Biggest game this year my ass.

Love it. My wife and I play in pretty much nightly.

Have been unable to complete the raid thus far due to the inability to get 6 friends together for a solid amount of time, but I'm confident we'll complete it shortly.

I feel like the longevity of the game lives and dies on your enjoyment in Crucible. I really enjoy it, so I have no hang ups around end game content.

I've been playing it on and off recently, mostly just getting on for Raids or the Nightfall. The amount of endgame content in Destiny is truly abysmal. Hell, the lack of content period. Who thought it was a good idea for there to be only one set of armor that gets you to level 30? Aside from your choice of one exotic armor piece, everyone looks the same. Even parts of the raid armor are identical models to regular legendary pieces. And that's just one of my many issues with Destiny.

This is probably the worst game I've ever played for 191 hours. :(

Woohoo I'm unbanned!!! Wow that felt like a long ass time :p.

I got a digital refund from Sony for this game. Its truly a huge dissapointing waste of time. You get some new loot here and there but nothing special, and there is nothing fun or interesting to do with the loot itself. The missions are boring and none of the gave an interesting hook. The story is garbage, the interaction with other players is minimal. I could go on and on.

427 hours with three characters. went on holiday for a week, came back and couldn't figure out why I'd still been playing after the first few weeks. Obviously the social side of things. Not going back until DLC december 9th, the last weekly update seemed to suggest there would be lots of updates before then, but reaaaading through itsfuckingnothing.png

I liked it but once I hit level 20 and had to look up on the net how to level up further I was out.

lol

It's a 10 out of 10 shooter stuck in a 5 out of 10 game.

Bought it on launch, I still play it most days. It's devilishly addictive because the combat (gunplay, AI, kill satisfaction) is so absolutely top drawer quality. Also, it's a brilliant co-op game and the PvP is fun too. There is nothing I would be rather playing right now, and until Bloodborne is out in February, I will be playing pretty much nothing else.

Played since launch, got money's worth. CoD AW came out and I haven't been on it since, that's not to say AW is good, I just don't want to play anymore.

And as I wasn't too impressed with what the expansion had to offer in the first place this might be it for me

how and when did you get the digital refund?

Trash, although the shooting is pretty good. I'm glad it failed, though. It will hopefully teach bungie some humility.

I had fun with it but I did not consider doing the same quests over and over again to be all that entertaining so I sold it. Really disappointed in the amount of content included.

the number of people actually playing it daily doesn't represent failure on there behalf. They are winning and will continue to win regarding sales. There are still millions addicted to it who are looking forward to buying the new DLC and Destiny 2.

Biggest disappointment of the year, if not ever. I REALLY want to like it because the gunplay itself has potential, but it is simply a show of poor game design and I still cannot comprehend where the $500m went.

Bought a PS4 specifically to play Destiny with a couple friends. Lets just say I no longer own a PS4.

I feel the same way. I have no idea how destiny is the most expensive video game ever made while being the most repetitive game I have ever played.

sold it this weekend. realized my casual friends were probably never going to be able to grind to level 26. kind of wish i could play the raid but oh well bungie still refuses to actual let you be social in this game. ton of other stuff i can play in my backlog or that are coming out in the next few weeks than replaying the same strikes over and over again

The only thing more repetitive than Destiny itself is the amount of times I have to roll my eyes reading the $500m bullshit people continue to spout.

why didn't you raid with GAF?

I played it for a grand total of like three hours the first couple of days it came out and then never touched it again. I liked what I played but recently I've just sort of lost all motivation to play games at least 90% of the time and Destiny didn't hold my interest to take precedence over the other games I've played for that at most 10% of my free time the last couple of months. I do want to get back into it at some point but it doesn't seem like something that will hook me judging by a lot of peoples' reception.

Traded it in. Terrible game. It has 4 fucking levels,I mean come on. I am shocked to see people are still playing it..

My biggest disappointment in video games since I started playing games as a kid. That doesn't make it one of the worst games ever but never has a game not even come close to my expectations based on preview coverage, industry discussion and Bungie's pedigree.

There is a raid thread on GAF. Played the raid 4 times with gaffers. Game is very social indeed. Randoms would never use their mic I assume.

Can't stand it now.

In the process of selling it on eBay. One of my biggest regrets purchase wise (£80 LE)

Right now, I don't really see why a Destiny 2 should be done. I mean, for what reason, to continue the story? To see what happens to our beloved (not) character with zero personality?

Destiny failed my expectations in literally every regard. Bad story (if there's one which I doubt), even worse characters coupled with the most primitive pvp mp out there right now.

I think it would be better for both Bungie and the industry if the game would be dropped. They should start something new, because I don't see how this can be made a good game.

Maybe if the make a sequel with a proper story and SP, but if that happens, that could easily be considered another, completely new game.

Played to level 23 I think, then realised I don't care for loot in my shooters. The mutiplayer didn't feel right and so sold it for £35, making back all the money.

It's fantastic, it is lacking content but it's an extremely fun game with great mechanics. I've put 100s of hours in it and will still be playing.

I am looking forward to what comes next for destiny.

probably would have happened if the game flopped financially. we basically funded the sequel.

it's entirely possible to salvage the game and hit it big with destiny 2, but it will require bungie to do things i don't think they're willing to do.

I sunk about 150 hours into it and those 150 hours were like nothing I'd experienced before - I was completely addicted.

But after taking a little break, I found that the game was empty and I despise the way you have to plan your life around the game. It might work well for students, but for people with work and family responsibilities, it's just a frustrating experience. I want to be able to play when I have free time, not arrange my life to fit in a weekly raid, weekly strike etc.

It's a good game, but it feels very cynical. Almost a f2p game in a retail skin.

So mixed feelings - incredibly addictive, some great moments, but also incredibly cynical and manipulative.
