Kretos is right. He PM'ed me his warnings list. He only has a couple active warnings before permabanned.

Part of what I like about NEOGaf is that its always seemed to me to be more of a free speech board, while ResetEra has had tighter moderation. The discussions here are better and people are more willing to make off-color jokes since they are less worried about mods banning for wrong-think.

I understand that NeoGaf moderators are trying to stop console warring from ruining every thread, but overreach by moderators is a bigger concern IMO. There was a thread topic about Gamepass missing sales forecasts and I made a (bad) joke about Gamepass’s library and got a warning. I’m happy to refrain from making jokes like that, but it wasn’t like I was derailing a thread about a specific game, it was a thread whose main topic was Gamepass subscriber counts. Just think the moderation was too tight there, and it seems like it’s becoming a bigger issue here. Please don’t let this place then into ResetEra!

Also, I hope OP can get to a better place.

Honestly? I think that warning stuff is a whole lot of bullshit. There seems to be more bureaucracy in moderating us cretin forum posters than in running a European nation. I applied to be a mod shortly after the exodus, but boy oh boy am I glad I didn't get the gig :messenger_grinning_sweat:

I'd love to see the back and forth PM dialogue mods get from pissed people, or what Reported messages say. I truly wonder how often they either shake their head in disgust or laugh out loud at the messages.

It’s definitely soft and if you are just speaking with friends or in a discord channel or something, I can see context where this would be a silly joke. however on a major forum like this? It just comes across as console warring. Especially if you just place that and pop off with no actual discussion or explanation.

And you got to look at context and posting history. Big time warriors trend to literally 95%+ warrior posts in battleground threads. Some might even be 100%. There's always some slant to their post as a brand lover. They rarely make threads, rarely post in other kinds of gaming thread, and never see them in OT or Community tabs.

Basically, they wake up and check GAF for threads which look like debate threads. If there are some they join in and defend the fort. If there's none they leave.

Don’t want to speak for the mods here, but I’d assume there’s context in their decisions.

Someone who shitposts about everything, and doesn’t come across as a console warrior is less likely to get a warning or a ban for a joke post, than someone who has an agenda towards one manufacturer of plastic boxes or another.

They probably review someone’s general posting attitudes before handing out infractions.

I'm going to go with they are probably constantly laughing their asses off. I mean look at the laughs and entertainment we are all getting out of this one meltdown, now imagine this multiple times day and they are getting hours of this high caliber of entertainment daily. No wonder EviLore EviLore can get away with paying them in candy corn.

Click on your name in the top right corner. Then click your name again. You should see a page that has those column tabs.

It doesn't appear to me, maybe those categories do not show if you haven't had a warning or a ban.
