tahrikmili said:Pretty much all anime games are generic to me.. blue/green hair, big eyes, small mouth, lots of colors. And let's not forget teh schoolgirls! Wow, the n'th time I've seen this..

tahrikmili said:I actually like the art direction, it's oriental enough without being anime-ish. The thing is, the graphics are really not good - unless it's very low jpeg compression the textures are way too blurred (bilinear and low res) and objects/buildings are too blocky (low poly). There isn't even any bumpmapping on walls/floors etc.. It just has the bloom effect (is this the new big thing or what?) This far into the generation, I would expect much better. I dare say it doesn't look better than KOTOR..
I mean, look at the floor here:

and the lanterns here:

These don't look like XBOX, they look like PS2..

Yup. But he wasn't and never will. FF games will keep playing like bad anime, and that original statement will continue to be true for the generations to come.SatelliteOfLove said:If Matsuno-san had been given free reign to do as he pleases, not as a bunch of stuffed shirts thought in regards to FFXII, that probably would've been a far less assured statement.

Your comment makes me sick.

So sayeth Triumph.
XS+ said:Not the first time you've been accused of making a vaguely racist statement. Remember your "wigger" comment?
As much as you've played Jade Empire.XS+ said:Because you've played FFXII.
Raoul Duke said:Well, the xbox is capable of better graphical presentation than the PS2. It's a fact. It doesn't always deliver, but the assumption is when you look at one machine and then at the other you expect the one that is "noted" for having greater graphical capabilities to, you know, actually have better looking games on it.
But yes, there are plenty of games that look great on all systems. I don't know why it's such a big fucking deal. I never get the console cock measuring contests, myself.
So you took exception because he was slighting the size of your chosen consoles' cock?XS+ said:A "fact" that, thus far, has only negligibly manifested. If MGS3 had appeared on the Xbox in its current state, its visuals would still be praised to the heavens. That's another fact for you. Anyway, I took exception to the statement because it comes off as a backhanded slight of the PS2.

Well except for the fact we have no HDTV and have to wait 6months + for games to be released...
Do The Mario said:Did you know that lik sang is a racially motivated site? It has the word jap all over its site, the pictures and box arts are even called game name JAP!
What state you live in kanbee?
Kanbee-san said:Political correctness is bollocks.
I live in South Australia , Adelaide. The ass end of australia.
Kanbee-san said:Or the use of US, ENG, AUS ? JAP is an abreviation of japan right ?
Do The Mario said:Okay people need to seriously get the fuck off their moral high horses!
I used the term jap as short for Japanese, it was not used in a racially vilifying manner it was purely used as.
Jap rpgs = Japanese rpgs how the hell is that offensive?
HOW?
People are fucked up for taking it out of context and trying there hardest to make it a racial slur.
Maybe we just havent lost the plot in Australia and are not so politically correct?
Tellaerin said:It's commonly used as a racial slur, at least in the US. I can't imagine anyone being ignorant of that. The fact that it's being thrown around in a thread where the 'Jap RPG's' in question are being put down and people who prefer them are being told to 'go live in Japan' by pro-Western gamers just reinforces the negative connotations of the term. Whether you like that or not, that's the way it is. If people tell you it's offensive to them, the correct answer is not to use the term that way in conversation anymore. End of discussion. You don't sit there and tell somebody why you think they shouldn't find a term used by people to refer to their race in a derogatory fashion offensive. In this case, what you think does not matter.
You didn't know? Then apologize and move on, and don't refer to Japan or Japanese things as 'Jap-' anything.
And if you want a non-offensive abbreviation for Japan, try JPN.

for some reason the jap voice acting in games with eng subtitles appeal to me very much, i wouldn't mind jap voices. in other words the jap actors have talent. should there be voice acting, its obvious link wont have a voice actor as he never says anything in the games
I only went Jap out of principle. Fucking Namco.
Shin Sangoku Musou Advance JAP Termin

:lol I hate anime and I enjoy Final Fantasy games. Final Fantasy and anime have nothing in common.
No, I'd still whine about the poor textures, very noticeable slowdown, and low-poly cigar.XS+ said:A "fact" that, thus far, has only negligibly manifested. If MGS3 had appeared on the Xbox in its current state, its visuals would still be praised to the heavens. That's another fact for you.
