Jade Raymond has left PlayStation's Haven Studios

The Sony employees now working overtime desperately trying to cancel the special edition controllers and Secret Level Season 2 episode for Fair Games

At this point she's pretty much playing the industry. You'd have to be dumb to hire at this point. She's collecting her checks and moving on.

All of you owe Matt Booty an apology. Last place, managing 3x the number of studios, crushing it with releases all year and into next and on multiple platforms.

Has any of Sony's acquisitions NOT turned to shit this gen?

Bought a bunch of studios, never farmed legacy IP, had Bluepoint working on a live service game instead of remakes and remasters... Have Bungie working on Marathon without a single player component, with no real connection to the IP...

Yeah, as much as I've defended Hermen, it might be time for him to go.

She has an incredible ability to obtain funding, form studios with AAA focus, but seemingly never able to follow through.

Sony has completely fucked up this generation and there is almost no end in sight to the bad decisions and investments they keep making. So much money spent to stand still. Just baffling.

No one wants fairgame$, no one wants Marathon, no one wants a horizon MMO. Just fucking stop already.

NeoGaf fucked up banning the one guy who could have turned this into a lot more entertaining.

She left a studio she founded without releasing a game... I'm pretty sure she has done this before.
I guess she wised up and did the heist herself. Everything is $FairGame$

I was going to say Insomniac, but that was 2019 :messenger_weary:
Those idiots thinking they need all this GaaShite because MS got Activision/CoD and it's been nothing but failure after failure (except HDII but they didn't purchase them).

It's the same story, studios taking a fuck ton of years for shipping a game (Compulsion, The Initiative), and even with 3x the workforce, they only beat SIE (which hasn't yet revealed its entire CY 2025 slate) for published games this year for 1 or 2 examples, right after SIE published more games than Microsoft in CY 2024.

It's crazy that Hermen Hulst is still in his position. Crazy mismanagement. He was appointed head of PS Studio in 2019, long before the acquisitions of Firewalk, Haven, Savage, Bungie, and all that fucking gaas bullshit. They algo greenlit The Last of Us Online, Bend's GAAS game, Bluepoint's GoW multiplayer... This guy single-handedly destroyed the PS5 generation.

Because she is fucking terrible, that's why.
She's got a long way to go to catch up Marissa Mayer, paid $329m by Yahoo for totally destroying the company in just five years, culminating in it's sale in bits and pieces. Oh, and then she was paid another $23m 'fuck off' money when they finally realised what she'd done.

Failing upwards sure is the way to do it.

They dropped the E (on Heaven) and named themselves Haven, only now they're in development HELL.

They were not E

Also, Jade Raymond is a fraud and I hope their trash gets canceled as the rest of all GaaS garbage.

There's no way they should get rid of Hermen that would just be stupid. If anything they should move him back to Guerilla games and get someone else to take his position but it would be a massive mistake to get rid of him. I just think maybe he's in a position he's not suited for but he's clearly great at being the head of studio.

Can anyone tell me what her accomplishments actually are outside of, for some reason, being treated as the sole creator of Assassin's Creed? Every time I hear about her, it's something that she was supposed to do but never accomplished. Is there something behind the scenes she's responsible for that makes her so valued or was she just a pretty face that got paraded for girl power? I'm not even kidding. I genuinely want to know why she's a big deal despite what appears to be consistent failures or departures.

Men in Boxes GITT!!!

Oh wait

Now that's just cruel and unusual...

....

hilarity

You're finally seeing the light. Good, brother. Good :)

I loved the original MM, it was what Asobi is today. What they have become is a bad joke. Dreams could have been Sony's Roblox, if they tried just a little bit.
Dreams is far better than anything LBP1-2 were, it just failed because they ironically tried A FUCKING LOT. It was too damn complex to compete with Roblox.
Tearaway is their best game though, and Team Asobi is nothing like old Media Molecule.

Any news I've seen of her has been leaving or starting a new studio...I didn't even hear about this one until now but before this it was something for Google Stadia....then before that it was rebooting Splinter Cell or something?

He'd have to want to go back and what do you do with the head of Guerrilla now? Not that simple.

I just think he has entirely too many strikes against him at this point.

Concord
The Last of Us Online
Bend Studio canceled game
Dreams PC failure
Deviation Games Cancellation
Marathon
Fairgame$
Bluepoint canceled God of War Live Service game
Rushed Nixxes ports
Lack of PlayStation Showcases, especially right before the PS5 Pro launched

I think it's probably time for him to step away and let someone else manage the studio business group. Maybe Scott Rohde depending on his direct involvement with some of these decisions.

Neil is probably a top choice as well as much as that would anger many.
