James Bond: Blood Stone |OT| 00-fficial 7hread

Could be a pleasant surprise this. Shame it appears to be sent out to die by Activision.

Not that I can talk, because I know it will be £10 before the year is over, which is when I'll pick it up if it gets decent reviews. :lol

Why does nobody remember what PS2 games look like? Seriously, to say this looks like a PS2 game is ridiculous.
Wait, I think he's right. I can barely tell which one is which.

I've been following this game because Bizarre is the dev, I hope it turns out good. Seems to me Activision is throwing all of its weight behind Goldeneye and left this one to die.

The guy at a small videogame store I know gets games on fridays, tries a copy(which will end up as a rental) during the weekend before selling them on Tuesday.

Either way, here's somebody doing a walkthrough on youtube.

It's the intro level

judy dench looks like she has had a stroke in this game :/

driving looks good but until I get my hands on it I wont know wether I am sold on it or not... I think the Wii version will be a bitch to control...

Is the game like based on the same engine as Wanted? Because the cover / vaulting just reeks of that game. (Not necessarily a bad thing if they improved it.)

Is it my imagination or is that car off balance, why is the left side so low to the ground?

The car's weight shifted to that side because he's driving around a bend.

It runs on a modified version of The Club's engine. Wanted used GRIN's own engine.

You know the game doesn't look too bad, but the character models? Christ, they're terrible. They look really cartoony and out of place with the realistic environment. :/

It was called diesel if I'm not mistaken. I literally only heard about this game yesterday, activision has put no marketing behind it and its releasing 1 week away from black ops. It's been sent to die, massive layoffs at Bizarre incoming.

I have heard that the Wii is getting a version as well,

There was some confusion back in July with 007.com showing a Bloodstone for Wii Box and listing but I am fairly certain they clarified that it was a mistake.

LOVE the look of this. It's very pretty, and looks nice and fluid.

Indeed, one can really see the Uncharted 2 influence, and it seems to make a better action movie game than the bourn identity game.

I heard it was left off to give Goldeneye more attention, would be odd that they make a DS and not... oh what am I saying most devs don't want to make gamesfor the Wii, not unless..ohh wait bloodstone for Wii will be onrails :p

then there is this
Metacritic blood stone Wii awoo it might surface or it might not?

if I am talking Jibba Jabba then mock me!!

Wait, Bloodstone isn't using the CoD4 engine like Casino Royale? sucks if true. I thought they did a good job with the cover system.

Man you'd think they would be advertising the hell out of both this and Goldeneye with the TNT marathon going this weekend.

That engine was a terrible fit for Quantum of Solace. Game looked like dog shit.

This is a big step up.

I watched that walkthrough (parts 1 and 2) posted earlier and I'm pretty much sold. It really did seem very "Bond" they way you switched from shooting to stealth to driving. I can see reviewers counting that against it (jack of all trades master of none) but it to me its works

I checked Steam this weekend hoping to see a preorder special but it wasn't up (aww come on activision why not throw in QoS for the PC if you preorder Blood Stone). Anyone know if it will hit steam Tuesday or in general how the PC port is?

M is putting is some good voice work (as opposed to Craig...) but the arms dealer stole the show. "Give that to me... no the BIG one" :lol Classic Bond villian. I hope he the villian for the main game and not just that intro

One of my main issues with QoS and (probably this as well looking at part 2 of the walkthrough) is the over use of the computer interface as a story telling device

First screen looks pretty much unplayable. You can't even see where you're driving the way the camera is facing!

At least the second one has a playable camera angle, so sorry to say, but the PS2 version wins.

I seen Actvision put it's weight behind this game as much as Goldeneye, as to say not much of it.
Goldeneye is just being talk about a lot more on forums, based on the fact Nintendo fans are batshit crazy & think it will be as good as the Rare classic.

I've seen numerous TV commercials for Goldeneye while I haven't seen a single ad for Blood Stone. So Activision is definitely putting their weight behind GE over this.

The visuals in that rooftop bit from the youtube vid looked quite nice. I'm pretty excited to play this. I think I will roll 360 pad on PC hooked up to TV.

I would be genuinely interested if this wasn't 4 hours long, or so it seems, and published by Activision. Looks like a nice Conviction rip-off.

Is it really on 4 hours? It better have some serious multiplayer. Guess I'll be playing it on the hardest level so I get some value from the game.

(praying the game is at least 6 hours)

According to an online stream, it is. From the sounds of it though, the guy played through it before, and breezed through it.

Looks like the Everything Or Nothing of this gen based on that video - as in a great original story with real actors, quality third person gameplay and intense driving sections. The chase in that Youtube video looked like the Pontchartrain Bridge chase in EON.

The PC version is listed at Gamestop too, so it looks like it'll get released on PC.

Multiplayer will have to be good though. Even with it being $10 less than the PC version, if it don't have good multiplayer and the single player campaign is only 4 hours...I don't want to just simply hand my cash to Activision.

This game pales in comparison to EON from what people are saying. Especially if it is only 4 hours on the hardest setting,
