I think they should kill two birds with one stone and do RoboCop v Terminator. Reboot two franchises at once.

Terminator Genisys was pure ebola tier trash but holy potato on a scooter I'd take a Cameron/Miller Terminator film.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
Meh I'd rather him return to Aliens at this point. Maybe slap Ridley Scott around so he doesn't keep fucking it up

The story was done in T2 but I always thought it would be cool to see a third movie set in the future war, showing the events leading up to Kyle going back. Then at the end the movie cuts to the saved timeline which was an alternate ending to T2 (older Sarah, Senator John).

But yea, I wouldn't mind two hours of that if that means wiping away everything released after T2 and finally putting the story to rest.

I would murder babies in their cribs for Cameron to direct this after Avatar 5 (or whatever number he's up to now).

Fingers crossed we will also get a decent game finally.
Everything since the 1991 arcade and Bethesda's 1995 Future Shock has been shit.
Open world Action RPG with some co-op pretty please.

If this project actually ends up working out, I strongly feel they need to break away from tradition and put a stop to the regurgitating of the same goddamn elements that they've been dragging out for every Terminator film. More specifically...

I don't want to see Sarah Connor.

I don't want to see John Connor.

I don't want to see Arnold Swartzenegger (I love Arnold but he's too long in the tooth for this sort of thing now)

Just tell brand new stories with brand new characters whilst building on the original concept of a remorseless killing machine that cannot be stopped going around hunting people. That's it. Make Terminator simple again. Shit's gotten way too convoluted at this point.

In a better timeline Cameron dumps Avatar to work on a new Terminator movie. I can't believe we're getting three more movies about those stupid cat people.

I have a suspicious feeling he's doing this to make the worst terminator film ever to kill this franchise

Or..

He seriously wants to make a proper send off to the film that ignited his career.

Either way, there a going to be fire

Wow, I was wondering if there was going to be any news about the series. I saw that the Berlin festival will be premiering T2 3d earlier.

I love everything about this.

Cameron having a hands-on position again
Tim Miller directing after doing a great job with Deadpool
Tim's experience with DP means this might finally back to being a low-budget action thriller like it should be
A reboot, so now they won't have to drag Ahnold's decrepit ass back in
A conclusion to the series, thank god because this franchise needs to END.

How does one erase the films from the 2000s?

This does feel sad though. I remember when James was a young guy cutting his teeth with epic films. We need new actors and directors who are hungry and have new ideas. Blade Runner, Terminator 1/2 Robocop Alien/Aliens are some of my favourite films. I'd like replacements not retreads or senseless sequels and old as fuck actors trying to rekindle something that can't be done.

Where's the new Arnie, Where's the new Harrison Ford? Sure as hell aint Ben Affleck.

Not sure what to think.

Trying to think of Cameron-produced projects that haven't had him directing that have actually turned out good.

If anything, I see this as him giving his name to the next film in order to boost its appeal/legitimacy since he'll now be more invested in its success/back end receipts since the rights will be his again.

With the four Avatar films, Cameron is way too busy to be heavily involved in this. So I'm not really expecting anything special.

This is like Spielberg lending his name as producer to Super 8.

Well I wanted it to be good...

I actually didn't hate it

It's my third favorite film in the franchise. Much of it due to how amazingly convoluted the film was. It just reached a point where I couldn't not enjoy the absurdity that was unfolding.

That alone makes it stick out more than the third film or whatever the other one was.
