I missed the episode...but...what did he do.

I love me some Rafael. Please don't go back to Michael...please...
He formed an alliance with
Lachlan
and schemed to use Petra's
sex tape
to get her fired by the hotel's conservative board of directors.

Just gross, even if Lachlan didn't exactly tell him that it had been filmed without Petra's knowledge :p

And that's only half the story, it gets interesting by the end on this subplot

Yeah, it's really frustrating, and can't help ratings at all. Once the momentum gets going, another two or three week break puts the breaks back on.

But it's certainly worth the wait every single time. Tonight's episode was another great one (romance novel club weirdness aside).

Jane's strong imagination and sense of fantasy have taken on a sort of tragic undertone now. The cold slap of reality that followed the dance scene ;__;

I love that the show can use its own tropes and motifs and turn them into something so sad.

Great episode. Petra looked extra hot to me this episode. The captions continue to slay me too. Bummer about there being another break though.

Seems the half-hour rule change was pointless in the end.

Jane the Virgin was officially just ruled eligible for Emmy submission in the Comedy category (along with Glee and Shameless, but who cares about those lol).

Ratings held steady at an upward adjusted 0.5, and the rest of the season (once it returns) will thankfully air with no more interruptions.

Nothing stops this train.

New episode tonight

Chapter Seventeen

Rafael reacts poorly to a crisis at the hotel, leading Jane to wonder how he'll face parenthood. Meanwhile, Alba disapproves of Xo's living arrangement; Michael and Rogelio help out one another; and Petra feels uneasy after she uncovers a huge secret.

The Michael-Rogelio bromance is my new favorite thing about this show. #TeamMichael #TeamJane #MoveOn

Yay someone else watched the episode! But l'm not liking the 'other' Michael ex, why did she have to turn out to be so scheming :( #MoveOn #TeamNadine

Two new kid actresses in last episode too, casting is great. Who is cuter: 16 yr Xo or 15yr Jane
trick question, dont answer that

Michael hates Rafael and if he does get back together with Jane the kid will just drive them apart. Hopefully it doesn't come to that and he does #MOVEON, with his partner.

The correct answer is
6 yr old Jane's future daughter. :v

I think Michael is becoming more ambivalent towards Rafael after finding out that he is not in fact Sin Rostro. He's just cognizant of the fact that it's still awkward between the three of them in the same room. On the other hand, Rafael seems much more threatened now by Michael than he was previously, which could bite him in the butt.

I like what they've done with Petra since her mom left and that storyline finished.

I don't have many complaints about Petra's plots personally, but I do find it hilarious how Game of Thrones-y her plots usually are. The rest of them are just worried about babies and love; she's trying to backstab everyone on her way to controlling a multimillion dollar business. I think we need Rogelio to tweet about how out of sync she is from everyone else.

The first season is on sale for only $19.99 right now on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, and Xbox Video. Best price yet. Get it while it's hot.

I'm slowly catching up. Chapter 9.

Yael Grobglas is so cute.

By a hair aaaaaaaaahhhhh
Damn, that got me.
I love the guest stars they keep getting know this show.
I hope they'll be able to afford to keep them as recurring. Not necessarily Rubio and Bisbal, but Moreno and Marin.

RIP Gordito

Man, the music playing over that laat scene kind of gave away what was going to happen. :/

Good episode. Not enough Migelio.

On one hand yeah but still on the other fuck you Rafael for making Jane cry! =( I'm half expecting that it'll turn out that Michael is his half-brother because Rafael's mom looks like she could be Michael's mom too.

So what are our theories on Andie? Just a crazy stalker bitch? If so, couldn't that be kind of dangerous for Jane not to mention?

Michael mentioned to Jane he knows Andie was stalking him and didn't seem to mind/seemed happy so Jane didn't think she should spoil his mood by telling him how bad it was. Besides Michael is police and can take care of himself. Although I would like the telenovela trope of Jane telling Nadine about Andie threat (without realizing the Nadine has a thing for Michael too)

Jane and Rafael :( you could see it coming the past few weeks but the feels when it happened

My understanding was that Michael saying that was an "oh you have no idea" moment.

I think they've made it pretty clear that it will, haven't they? I mean the narrator used to give clues about the future, I think at least he's affirmed Jane and Michael won't end up together.
I'm sure it'll work out brilliantly (I mean, this isn't that kind of show for it not to), but Gina sold the heck out of her desperation not to bring a baby into a broken/non-existent home.

The feels were too strong, as you noted ;___;

In other news, and in another first for the CW (after the show's Golden Globes victory), Jane the Virgin has just won a Peabody Award, with the jury describing it thusly:

"Immaculately conceived, it’s a smart, self-aware telenovela that knows when and how to wink at itself. Its Latina lead, Gina Rodriguez, is incandescent.”

Yes, the show has now won The CW two major honors the network probably never thought it would see in its lifetime.

Full speed ahead to the Emmys!

Y not more people watch Jane?! =(

Granted damn near everything on The CW is a lot lower than it should be in terms of ratings.

They really wrote Roman off quick after the reveal didn't they?

Damn, I'm feeling pretty bad for Raf and Petra right about now. Though Raf is being a little dense, but I understand where he's coming from.

lol Michael

Is that right? I didn't recall that. Hmm. Got a link?

I don't recall that either. I think he may be extrapolating more information from the tenses/syntax the narrator uses than a person probably should.

As far as I know, all the clues that the narrator would drop were for things that were happening in the immediate future, as in 1-2 episodes later at most.

I think it was that episode when Michael and Jane (unintentionally) meet at the hospital. And he asks her something about their future and then the narrator confirms that their future is not together, something along those lines.

As LMQ said above, I think the narrator at that point was just indicating what was about to happen in the next couple of episodes. AFAIK this isn't a HIMYM situation. I sure hope not, at least. Most shows don't need to box themselves in like that.

I checked that episode but it wasn't there, I can't remember when it was but it was after a scene with Michael, something like "Michael still hopes someday Jane will change her mind, but she won't".

I'm a bit skeptical of them as well as they're unofficial, but just hoping to get to the bottom of this mystery! :)
OK, I think it might have been this (which is not what I thought)
- I'm not just gonna give up on us. You know? We belong together. And I'll never stop believing that.

Latin lover narrator: And for as long as Michael lived, until he drew his very last breath, he never did.
So maybe I was wrong. I'll keep looking :p
