Or maybe not! You never know. Narrator is cheeky as fuck.

Apparently Luisa was supposed to die pretty early on to so who knows.

Speculation:
Oh man, I hope they weren't trying to foreshadow Michaels death with the last line.

Hmmm...I hadn't considered that but I am terrible at reading into things. I took it to mean that
Michael was going to put on the refuse pile when Jane finds out he's been banging his partner.

Variety said:
According to preliminary national estimates from Nielsen, “Jane the Virgin” averaged a 0.53 rating/1 share in adults 18-49 and drew its largest overall audience (1.4 million) since the show’s series premiere. It had its best ratings to date in both adults 18-34 (0.6/2) and women 18-34 (0.9/3), up 20% and 29% respectively vs. its prior original.

“Jane,” which has already been picked up for a second season, has been more of a critical darling than a strong ratings performer, but it may have found some new viewers after Rodriguez scored a surprising victory at the Golden Globes for best actress in a TV comedy.

Ok, here's what I think happens:
Michael has a near death experience (last breath) and saved by Peitra giving him CPR. Now he falls in love with her

Am I the only person here who would be okay with
Michael being the endgame? This is what narrator could be suggesting too. It's not like the show is ending and we should be 100% sure who is Jane going to end up with.
A lot could happen between now and the end of the show. Besides, I like Michael much, much more than Rafael.

I don't think the narrator was hinting at anything. He said something similar in one of the previous episodes, about a character's thoughts or feelings projected in the future. I think it was Michael too.

If Rose doesn't turn out to be Sin Rostro, I'll be very disappointed:

- she was the one responsible for redecorating recovery suites
- the dying bellboy specifically named Sin Rostro to her face (okay, Rafael was there too)
- she doesn't want to leave her husband (because he has connections to Marabella?)
- puts Luisa in mental institution to protect her interests
- names her husband as a potential suspect, exactly as she did with Luisa

Either that or Rafael's father really is the kingpin and she's working as a undercover police officer (???) - but then WHY would she tell Rafael about her suspicions?

I dunno. I have to say even if it's a red herring the way it was specifically the end of the episode was definitely intended to come off as potential foreshadowing. That's really odd directing otherwise.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the episode. Swag bag's got everything you need!

This latest episode did a decent job in making the character more likable. His petty behavior towards Rafael was getting old several episodes back and only serves to push Jane further away.

(That said, I've never found Michael particularly interesting and wouldn't miss him if he left.)

Finally got around to watching the last episode. Disappointed by the lack of a Golden Globes ratings bump. =\

Petra's mom is who I'm still thinking of as being Sin Rostro, perhaps she lost power out of power or something which is why "he" had disappeared or just hiding to protect Petra. Or Sin Rostro is maybe more than one person... Serbia and the Czech Republic aren't that far apart either.

Was thinking during the "who's fired" drama that Jane should've sacrificed herself for them.

I guess this hotel doesn't have any cameras that would've seen Petra's mom walking or pushing Alba. Although I guess at the moment that is the least of their worries and they think she just fell.

You mean a larger bump?
Leona posted the ratings news tidbit. Largest since season opener.

And yeah, I thought Jane was going to quit too.

Total viewers was up but the 18-49 rating was basically where it's been since the show started. Debuted with a .6 and it's been going to .4 and .5s since, last episode was .5.

Narrator is awesome.

"It was an OMG moment"

"Not that one you perv"

I'm with you on this one.

Holy shieeet I just starting watching this (4 episodes so far) and I am believer, me and my wife are hooked, amazing show. Rogelio de la Vega is the GOAT

I really, really love this show. I also love how it has a pretty diverse cast that tells a uniquely Latin-American story while not shoving it in our faces. I wish there was an Asian-American version of this. Like a show based on Korean/Japanese dramas, with all the modern and quality updates that this show has gotten.

I strongly identified with Michael, because he's pretty much the kind of guy I am and what is happening to him (losing his fiancee to another man) is pretty much my worse fear. The way Jane fell for Rafael was pretty anger-inducing for me. Sometimes it gets hard for me to sympathize with her character after that, but then she'll do something amazing or funny or heartbreaking and I'll be on her side again.

I currently feel like Michael's "mistake" was really just the writer's way of driving Jane into Rafael's arms. Meanwhile, Rafael has been written as the ultimate male mary sue object of desire for (many) women. Rich, good-looking, bad boy past with a heart of gold that can do no wrong. He's even a cancer survivor! How could a woman not fall for that?!

"zomg life is so hard all these job opportunities ! "

Shut the fuck up Jane.

LOL I felt the same way. Jane's adorable, but the show's going out of its way to depict her pregnant hormones-induced neurosis.

I mean, THREE jobs!? She shouldn't be doing anything but soaking in Rafael's manly juices all day.

Or maybe I'm just projecting. That man is FINE

Solid ep. Not my fave yet but still enjoyable. I don't think I care that much about drama at Rogelio's set, especially as a cliffhanger. Ep was legit otherwise; Rogelio was hilarious as always. Rafe and Michael got some good scenes in, as did Petra. (Mo-THER!)

Ratings went up again - highest in demo, and highest total viewership since the premiere.

wow, that's one insanely low quality GIF

Considering the volatility of a show like this, if I were a character I wouldn't be staking my financial future on any particular individual.

Well, except Rogelio.

THAT FUCKING COMMERCIAL BREAK
I was stunned then I was stunned again.
This episode was the best yet. This show just gets better and better.
What a fucking ride.

Called it - like half the fandom, but still: called it!

What an episode! Michael at the doctor's office, Rogelio's death scene, PETRA's death scene and that ending. WOW.

This is how you know the show is fucking genius: in the midst of all that chaos, the most memorable scene for me was also the most quietly touching - Alba wearing the earrings young Jane bought to replace the gold ones, giving Jane the inspiration to write her father's final scene.

So touching, this show ;___;

I did not expect that ending. I was somewhat confused because I had only watched the first episode so far other than this one.
Amend this error ASAP :p

The fallout from Rogelio being killed off his own show and his daughter writing the script and that scene actually being awesome ... it's gonna be amazing I hope.

And Jane when she runs into Petra on the stairs. First the OMG WTF and then she feels the pain and goes to talk to her.

Rose must have a degree in time management. Playing Emilio's wife, having an affair with her stepmother AND being a crime lord ? I know:
twin sisters, one good one evil

This fucking show. WOW

With that Petra scene, my jaw was on the floor and my mind asking, The CW wouldn't allow that shot to be that slow and painful, right?

And the Sin Rostro reveal got me good until Luisa's letter but what happened at the end...OMFG. Mad Genius.
