Man, that was awesome how KG took up the challenge when Vukavic (sp?) had blocked his shot (I think, I heard them saying it behind me), and then got a steal on him to shut him up. Shades of Jordan-type mind games. :D

Lakers without Kobe > Lakers w/Kobe

Yeah Konex-- Lakers don't have a "real" PG:

Atkins, Chucky: 25 points (on 10-17 from the floor-- Kobe's green with envy! :D), 11 assists

Btw, this entire post was tongue-in-cheek, so you can stop typing an angry response. ;) :D

I can't be angry after a W :lol Yeah Chucky was HUGE tonight but check the boxscore of the previous game. Consistency is the key and no one but Kobe (and Mihm when he actually gets to play) can claim that on this team..

Going 4-19 from the floor one night and then 8-19 the next isn't "consistency", Konex. :D

Kobe being out a few games is the best thing to ever happen to the Lakers. They have the potential to be an all-star team once he gets back.

But he gets to the FT line and makes up the pt production there on off-shooting nights. Again, CONSISTENCY :)

Yes, I know- I was joking. :p

I could have said <cough>ref bailouts<cough>, though. ;)

HOLY CRAP! Check out the move that Ginobli put on Corey Magette and then the lay-up on Sportscenter if you can. :lol Total abuse.

The Lakers are 21-16, and in sixth place. Fix this NOW!

I don't think that's going to happen-- during tonight's game, they mentioned that LA has something like 9 out of the next 10 games at home or something. Funny how things always work out for them, eh? ;)

:lol

You are almost as crazy and illogical about the Lakers as I am about Jordan.

Oh stop-- I was (half) kidding. :D

On a side note, I was looking through the box scores in the paper this morning and saw the Dallas/Washington result from Tuesday night (I get the early edition, so if a game finishes late it shows up in the following day's box scores), and this is what I saw for Dallas:

Nowitzki: 28 points
Finley: 25 points
Stackhouse: 29 points
Terry: 26 points

Four players with 25+ in a regulation game. :O That's gotta be some sort of record. Has anyone ever seen that before? Maybe this was discussed a few pages back and I missed it, but I was shocked when I saw this. Four guys with 20+ I've seen, but not 4 with 25+.

Also, Jason Kidd and Vince Carter were both incredibly close to a triple-double last night: Kidd had 17/8/10, and Vince had 30/9/9. That would have been something special-- two teammates with triple-doubles in the same game. That hasn't been done since '89, when Jordan (41/10/11) and Pippen (24/12/10) did it. Oh well, here's to another 15 years... :D

I can see Kobe and Odom doing that some day, though, assuming they stay together. I'm drawing blanks regarding other teammates who'd be capable of it. Maybe Francis and Grant Hill or one of the Dallas duos (take your pick).

Why do you think Kobe and Lamar might notstay together? Anyways, Arenas and Hughes could do the triple-dub thing I'm sure...

Poody

What program do you use to photoshop a picture?
the only way i would give up LO is if we get a big in return. But i would rather have LO then C Butler.

No reason, it was just a qualifier. It's only their first year together, so who knows how well they'll mesh in the long-term.

And I like how you say you're "sure" that Arenas and Hughes can do the triple-double thing. :lol There's a reason it hasn't been done in nearly 16 years, you know-- it's not that easy. :D You really think that both those guys are consistent enough and skilled enough to have it happen on the same night? In other words, you're saying that right now, both those guys are triple-double threats every game, like MJ and Pip were or like Kobe and Odom are. I don't think they're there yet.

I just checked their game-by-game stats; Hughes seems solid-- he's had a triple-double and a few close ones. Arenas, however, is averaging 4.1 reb. and 4.8 assists. That'd be a stretch. :D

We'll see, though. It's just an incredibly rare thing for two players on one team to be clicking in every phase of the game on the same night. What did you think about those Mavs stats I posted? Crazy, huh? :)

Wha......hmm, I think you missed the intention of my post. I guess I could of been more clear. I was alluding to the fact that NBA.com's standings had reflected a Lakers loss in the Minnesota game, thusly dropping their record to 20-17 and putting them in 7th place. They finally corrected it though, so all is right in the world.

:lol No problemo. I'll pretend this never happened. All I ask in return is that you say three nice things about Kobe (the usual insults thinly disguised as compliments don't count). :D

I just scored some tickets from a guy at work for tonight's game! Yeah, so his rich aunt and uncle have floor baseline season tickets and season tickets above the tunnel. Needless to say I get the tunnel tickets. :lol

Go Mavs!

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Houston Rockets star Tracy McGrady is being sued by a man who had the tip of his nose bitten off by the player's Rottweiler last year.

Fred Chamberlin, 57, was working at McGrady's home in southwest Orange County on Aug. 25 when the dog attacked him.

The lawsuit, asking for unspecified damages, was filed Wednesday in Orange County Circuit Court.

Just a warning for you Konex, say one positive thing about T-Mac and your nose is GONE!

i stand by that statement. And if an alien invasion from Mars hadn't postponed last years NBA Finals, he's have FOUR championships instead of three.
