Wow, is that Lamar Odom or LEBRON JAMES!? :D

If the Lakers manage to beat Seattle (unlikely) without Kobe, it will be a glorious day indeed. :lol

I'm happy that the Suns scored 133, but at the same time disturbed they gave up 118 to the Knicks. Haha. Looks like they're back in business though. At least back to winning games. Thank GOD Nash is back. Most important player to his team, by far.

Yeah, but Crawford was on fire. He had 40-- he won't get that every game, though I guess it's easier to get it against the Suns. ;) :p

The thing is when the Suns get up big, they literally don't give a shit how much the other team scores, they would rather the game just play run-n-gun the whole time. Good entertainment value.

Luke is gonna get traded soon. They are showcasing him now....

Why the hell does Rudy not play him? What an idiot....

because we have 40985 small forwards, and as good as he is on offense, he is by far the worst defensively, and this team needs defense, not offense.

Rest in peace, Don. We'll miss you.

I'd rather see him off the bench than Cook or Tierre at this point regardless of position. What the hell are those 2 giving on either side of the ball that Luke can't do?

From Clublakers:

I GOT TO MEET KOBE!

Well it really wasent for me....Let me explain.About six months ago my cousin was diagnosed with cancer (he is fine now and going through treatment). So grant a wish foundation asked him what he wanted for a wish and it was to meet kobe.So to make a long story short today was the game we go to go,we had pretty nice seats about 12 rows up.Me my cousin (who had cancer)my mom and my other cousin got to go.So during the fourth qtr a lady for lakers PR came up to us and moved us down so we wouldnt have to fight the crowd on our way to him back scense or whatever. So we were put into a room (i dont know why we didint go to the locker room)so after about 30 mins and countless false alarms i see kobe walk in (on cruches).I was suprised by not really nervous or scared becuase we had been waiting so long.Well my cousin was too nervous to talk (hes 13) so i ended up asking most of the questions. He was a real laid back kind of guy which suprised me.Heres what i asked him and his answers (not word for word but bare with me)/

Me:A so kobe do you think your going to be back right after the 5 games on the IR are up?

Kobe":" naa man i dont think so thats the first injury where i felt like i wouldnt be able to come back into the game.Ive had alot of ankle injuries in my life and i usually get through them after a couple of days, you know one or two games."
Me :ya i see (i said this alot)

Lady from grant a wish:So who was ur favorite player growing up"?

Kobe: "Magic defintly...growing up italy the game wasent as global as it is now".So the only games we ever got to see were either the lakers or the celticsSo i saw alot of magic growing up,but when i got to the states i got to see jordan play and he was a big infulence".

Me"so kobe when are you coming out with your own shoe"?

Kobeas he signs my cousins jersey)April....coming out around april there gunna be real hot".

Me: Aw thats good right around my birthday.Im definitly gunna pick those up. (corny but i was nervous)
Grant a wish lady:"what music do you listen to"?

Kobe:Mostly hip hop.Jay hes my favorite rapper...i like 50 ,game G-unit.I really dig all of that'.

Meafter we took individual pictures)Are you going to play in the all star game?"

Kobe:I hope so man ,i just talked to t-mac last night and if im out there were really going to rip it up"."Its going to be a crazy night if were out there together".

EDIT) after settling down i remeberd asking him i"yo kobe were you really thinking about signing with the clippers over the summer"?

Kobe: Ya man ya.It was a close decison it was either the lakers, clippers and bulls. But once your a laker you know, your a laker for life.

Me:Ya man i hear that.

After we thanked him and said are goodbyes or what ever i couldnt belive that i just met him.So we gatherd the stuff we got signed and were escorted out i saw kobe getting onto the back of a cart i said "hey kobe can i get 1 more pic" and he threw up 2 peace signs as he was riding off.I said "thanks man get well soon we need you out there"then he said "thanks alot man take care".So that was it we got into the car and came home.iI couldnt belive that i just got to meet kobe i was in shock.Sorry that this was poorly written i am still kinda excited.I will post the pics as soon as i get them developed.Just had to share it with some laker fans

I wonder if ClubLakers pays Konex for all the free advertising he does for them. ;) :p

And yes, bionic, I'm on Jordan's payroll for the same. :D

Damn, all one of those kids had to do was hold Kobe's autographed jacket up in front of him and Lonestar would've been green with envy-- he only has a sneaker! :D

Coach: Stop blame, complaints
Negative comments by Shaq and others irk Van Gundy.

By Tom D'Angelo

Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

Wednesday, January 26, 2005

TORONTO — Shaquille O'Neal's complaints about teammates missing open shots in Monday's loss at Philadelphia were not well-received by Heat coach Stan Van Gundy.

Van Gundy said the Heat's problems go beyond shooting and start with defense, rebounding and effort.
In other words, three areas in which O'Neal has been inconsistent this season.

"That's the wrong thing to be talking about,'' Van Gundy said about the perimeter shooting. "There are nights the ball goes in, there are nights the ball doesn't go in. The problem with us over the last three weeks is we haven't consistently played hard enough or with enough energy.''

O'Neal insists he was not pointing fingers specifically when he said a player must take it personally when his man leaves him to double-team. The criticism could have been aimed at Eddie Jones (3-of-12) or Damon Jones (2-of-6). Dwyane Wade missed 10 of his 13 shots but played the final two quarters after spraining his left ankle and bruising his left knee. Wade missed Tuesday's practice and the knee could prevent him from playing against the Raptors tonight. Wade said he is day to day.

"I didn't call my team out,'' O'Neal said. "I said when a guy like Dwyane is hurt, he kicks the ball out, we have to hit shots. That's all I said. I'm not in the business of calling my team out. We all need to play better. That's what I said."

O'Neal scored 24 points but had just five rebounds, missed 11-of-17 free throws and allowed Sixers center Samuel Dalembert, who is 2 inches shorter and 70 pounds lighter, to have 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Defense, rebounding and effort.

"When we get our focus on those things, on making effort and on playing harder and defending better and rebounding better and doing all those things rather than saying it's all about shooting, then we'll be headed in the right direction,'' Van Gundy said.

"Quit looking for all the different excuses and places to point the finger. Point it at ourselves and be responsible and go out and get the job done.''

None of O'Neal's teammates would publicly say he's calling out any one individual, but they all agree that this team has lost something.

"Guys really don't read into it,'' Wade said. "I mean, Shaq, without him saying anything, we all understand that we have to do that. I think guys know that.''

Van Gundy, attempting to keep his team from unraveling, addressed the situation before Tuesday's practice. Miami (30-13) has seen its lead in the Eastern Conference and Southeast Division shrink to 3 1/2 games over Washington. Since winning 14 straight, the Heat is 5-6.

"December is long gone now and over the month of January we have been a very mediocre to below mediocre team and we've got to accept that and work to change it,'' Van Gundy said.

Van Gundy does not want to hear O'Neal implying that he paces himself or Wade saying Tuesday the Heat's slump is common.

"There comes a point in the season where everyone goes through the times that we're going through right now,'' Wade said.

Van Gundy does not sound as convinced.

"We need to get back to playing harder for longer on a more consistent basis every night,'' he said. "Until we do that we will be what we've been the last three weeks. If we're not going to make more effort than the people we play against then we'll stay right where we've been.''

Nice move by Gundy. Gutless Phil would never do this :lol
