Hate to break this to you, but the Royal Rumble has been predictable 90% of the time. And that's a good thing, because Kofi Kingston or whoever Wreddit wants to win the Rumble this week as a surprise would be terrible booking.
here's my bold prediction : both Big Show and Kane will be the "favorite" according to commentary because of their size, eventhough they've been losing year after year after year

I think the only superstars where one wouldn't go "holy shit how is this guy main eventing the biggest Wrestlemania of all time?" (not counting surprise entrants not currently employed by WWE or injured guys) are:
John Cena
Brock Lesnar
Undertaker
Triple H
Daniel Bryan (if he's cleared to wrestle of course)
The Rock
Roman Reigns (if he somehow doesn't have the title by the rumble)
And out of all of those, I'd only expect Cena and Lesnar to actually be in the rumble match itself. So basically 2 guys.

Not sure why but I've been thinking a lot about Hogan and his legacy in wrestling (sans recent crap), but I think he may end up not even being a top 10 wrestler. Yes, he pushed the WWE/F a lot and brought it largely into the mainstream, but he's pretty bad. His mic work was good but barely evolved. He was extremely one dimensional in the ring and just got worse and worse as he went on. Probably the best thing he did was the Hollywood heel turn and that wasn't even his idea. And even then he had to make the entire thing about him. I think this all clicked when I was watching his second match with Warrior in WCW. Awfulness aside he just looked terrible and seemed like he wanted nothing to do with trying to make Warrior work.
You look back on guys who were equally as ego driven (Hart, Michales, HHH, Flair, etc) those guys still worked the match. Every Hogan match and runs with him were just always about Hogan.
He should also be kicked out of the Hall of Fame for Wolfpack Hogan. Christ that was fucking awful.
I'm ranting and I think I just loathe Hogan from all aspects of wrestling.

In a perfect world, CM Punk would crash the party as a non-contracted employee, throw everyone out of the ring before Entrant #30 was revealed. Take out that final guy before they even make it down to ringside and the WWE runs a renegade angle to set up a Mania match where he could really "make Roman Reigns look strong".

Honestly a near silent, mysterious and violent female that is the true power behind the Wyatts would be cool. But the chances of it ever been executed in the WWE with any sort of competency would be zero. They fail every single women on the roster every single week in the most terrible ways so being able to put forward a nuanced, subtle, powerful female character is so hilariously beyond them I don't even know why I'm posting this?
