BTW Bebpo can you possibly meet up on Monday? I just found out that classes don't start for me until Tuesday, so Monday would be a better meeting time, but Tuesday would probably be fine too; looks like it's just orientation in the morning and that's it...

Now the only things left are to find out how the hell to get TO where I'm staying from the airport and if the plane has jacks for laptops, will mine get fried if I plug it in.

Yeah, I'll probably check my e-mail and this forum on saturday morning around 7am before heading to the airport and that will be the last I see of the internet unless the hotel has free or cheap internet which it probably does. I'm staying at the Keio Plaza Tokyo in Shinjuku.

No laptop on the plane ride for me, it seems. But I did buy myself a Tapwave Zodiac...planned to load it up full of NES, Master System, and PCE roms, but alas, I waited too long to get the emulators, and am at the mercy of the author for whenever he e-mails the keys. :\

Yea I'm pretty sure there is no laptop plug-in on my flight so the laptop is outta the picture. That's why I have saved a single game to make me through the flight: Fire Emblem I've had it sitting un-opened for like 2 months so I'd have an unplayed good game to keep me entertained. I'm looking forward to putting as much time in as I can before my battery dies in the GBA ^^;;

Oh, the plane I'm in HAS input for laptops....but this Alienware I'm using puts out too much power!

I've got the GBA ready, but I'm praying I can get the Tapwave fully loaded...it's really damn nice.

Actually, I`m enjoying FFIV on the Wonderswan and I only delved a little into Arc The Lad:KS. My biggest complaint is the requirement of a proper light to play the games (even though the screen is damn crisp) and the fact that the sound output is total garbage (despite the sound processing unit to be decent)

Okay, I am here in Tokyo, staying at a place in Nerima. I thought I'd have to share one crappy coputer on dial up with everyone else that lives here, but it turns out that it's no only broadband, but I can hook up my laptop to the hub they have in the PC/TV room.

Joypolis is almost more of an indoor amusement park than an arcade. Home to what has to be the most dangerous rollercoaster I have ever seen/ridden. Not because it's very big or anything, but they jerk you around violently and it really seems like if you let your arms away from your body at all, you WILL lose them.

That said, Joypolis has the BEST F-ZERO AX CABINET EVER. They have a section with 4 seats hanging from the ceiling, each one being an F-Zero cabinet. Since it is not connected to the ground, the seat can swing wide to either side or tilt sharply up or down depending on what your racer is doing in the game. So cool. And just further evidence that F-Zero GX/AX is wildly underappreciated by the masses.

If you go into Joypolis looking for a straight up arcade, though, you will be kind of disappointed, since there's only one relatively small area with arcade machines. If you want a nice big arcade, try the one a couple blocks away in Palette Town. It's right underneath the biggest ferris wheel in the world, so it's kind of hard to miss.

Plane lands at 4:10pm -> 2 hour bus ride to hotel -> 1-2 hours checking in process.

I had a great time at "Joypolice" in Tokyo (before they closed that one down). The had Sega Rally 2 hooked up with a real rally car! The car moved around and was in front of a HUGE TV screen.

Forget Joypolis, you can play all these high-end arcade setups at your local Round 1 (which has a lot of locations, it's about the closest thing Tokyo has to Family Fun Ctr)

I got to meet DCharlie and Mr. Singh today. It was a lot of fun; they're both great guys. Only downside was the weather...I was sweating buckets and it really tired me out towards the end, so guys, if I seemed a bit out of it at the restaurant, it's because I was dead tired! ^_^;

Tomorrow I'm going to meet Bebpo (yes, Aki again...that's three times in about four days! ) and probably buy myself a PS2. If anyone else wants to come, we're going to meet in front of club Sega at 12:30. I'll check this thread again tomorrow before I leave, but for now, it's off to bed....I can't stay here in this dorm living room and use the internet, since a bunch of the other people here have decided to hold a party in this TINY little room, and I'm too tired to put up with the noise. I bet the neighbors are going to complain.
