sp0rsk said:Yup. In my opinion, this isn't just a watershed moment for DS game design, but it's also the kick in the ass the Zelda series has needed. Playing this has given me a lot of hope for the actual Wii version of Zelda. All the stuff you do with the map, taking notes, this is where it's at.
How much input did Aonuma have in this game? It seems so different than the console Zeldas. It has a lot of non-game inspired moments which makes me think this was headed by one of the younger guys.
TP was really a big disappointment for me. The main reason was because it was more of the same. This game is so much more creative and fresh.

I'm sorry, even though this may work, there's nothing about the touch screen controls that seems to add to/improve/rejuvinate the gameplay. Did you play the Wii version of TP? Cause if you did, I'm not sure why you would be disappointed, since it's basically doing the same thing PH is.

Are you...are you being serious? There's NOTHING in common with PH and TP.
And obviously you wouldn't know if the touch screen makes the series better. You haven't played it yet, while Kobun and sporsk have.
yeah, but TP's wiimote controls consist of aiming a crosshair, fishing, and swinging a sword.Oblivion said:I was talking about TP taking advantage of the Wii controls, the way PH taken advantage of the DS's touchscreen.

While I am having fun with this game and it's different, I'm going to have to say that the all-stylus movement isn't perfect, but again, like TP on Wii, it works. I wish there was an option to play Phantom Hourglass with the D-pad so I could compare. I mean, moving with the stylus so far is more fluid, but less precise. So it's a trade offf. And the issues of trying to move will tapping, ie the stylus affects everything on screen at all times from movement to actions, does cause some frustration here and there. I personally think if this game had Tingle RPG's basic "mechanics" for movement, it would be flawless.
sp0rsk said:Uhhhh, you have no idea what you're talking about.
Oblivion said:Whatever. I guess I just can't understand how this so called revolution has more to do with the controls, rather than any actual new gameplay ideas, a la MM.
you could just wait, buy the game, play it, and find out for yourself.Oblivion said:Whatever. I guess I just can't understand how this so called revolution has more to do with the controls, rather than any actual new gameplay ideas, a la MM.

TSA said:I'm listening to this soundtrack...wow. Very, very good use of songs from nearly every title and altering them and incorporating portions into newer pieces.
And wow...I'm hearing some Twilight Princess parts here and there...
Jaagen said:What? The OST is out?
rareside said:The multiplayer is awesome. Me and a buddy spent about an hour just getting the hang of different strategies against eachother.
It feels damn good sneaking into your buddies base stealing all his Triforce pieces and bringing them back to yours.
I think I've spent more time (about 2-3 hours total) on multiplayer than I have the main game so far.

Why is the postman on one of the islands? And why does he lack wings? And why is he is now a blacksmith? Is he even the same guy, cause he looks like him.
sp0rsk said:Zuh? If your talking about the guy in the northern island on the north map then it's someone completely different.
Darunia said:Ok ok, so the boat parts: you can move freely now right? No more, friggin, changing the directions with the wind wand and stuff?
Reading the impressions has got me psyched. This can be good. Van Johnson good.
Neo Child said:Also, a great lil spoiler for those who liked LttP/Zelda1 enemies... Zora related..
