I got super excited at the prospect of shibuya kei-era Capsule (I'm still a little disappointed that modern-era Capsule is so dull), and then I heard the song and... I think we heard different songs? Or maybe my definitions are off, this is what I think of when I think of shibuya kei Capsule. ShibuyaK sounds like Fruits Clipper-era Capsule maybe?

You're right that it's really weird, though. I know she's not afraid of genre-hopping, but this is a pretty drastic change from her last album. Not sure I like it, it seems a lot less distinctive and unique.

Bought OKAMOTO'S's new album this week, OPERA

Woah, what a surprise this album was. It's not really comparable to their previous stuff. Sure it has a few trademark super danceable OKAMOTO'S songs like Dance With You but overall it's a weird (but amazing) addition to their discography. 16 songs telling a one hour long story, we go from blues to minimalistic/experimental to hip-hop to upbeat rock to funk... And it just works! Great, just great stuff. Love it more than I expected.

I absolutely love the video, too. FOLKS never disappoint. They really deserve more recognition...
Didn't expect to like them as much as Galileo Galilei when they debuted tbh, but they surpassed my expectations and I'm eagerly waiting every release by these guys.

Learning that guitar rock bands from the late 90s like TRICERATOPS, Supercar, GRAPEVINE... were called "スニーカー系" (Sneaker kei) has been the highlight of my day.
Basically it was in response to the Visual kei's domination back in the day. The bands I named were just performing wearing normal clothes, stuff they wore everyday, their t-shirts, jeans, sneakers... Believe it or not, that wasn't really a thing back then haha
