Probably a misguided conclusion based on japanese idol groups favouring group vocals and a certain unpolished delivery over individual skill.

So, I don't know if it was already mentioned, but for the Moshi Moshi Nippon in Tokyo Non-Japanese people can enter the festival for free with a non-japanese passport and an advance registration. The lineup is really solid also (the Sunday headliners are flawless).

All the info in the official webpage

I wish I had brought more money for my trip last week. I only ended up with some second hand headphones from e.earphone Osaka and this Shishamo shirt lmao.

FM802's Facebook updates also make me realise that Minami Wheel is on this weekend ...

that lineup is legit as hell.

were it convenient to me, I'd probably consider going just to see if I could get Shiina Pikarin to bite me or stand on my head or something

maybe go see some music too or something, you know..

I think I would have considered going to the Paris one if we had Suiyoubi no Campanella.
Oh well. Not really a festival for me outside of that.

Jesus, just bought Yonezu Kenshi's new album on Amazon MP3 (JPN) and it won't let me download it, aaaaaaaaah
Why you gotta do this to me nooooow

charisma tweeting about their paris time had me clamouring for a berlin visit from them. hope it'll happen at some point!

In case you were wondering where Sakanaction got the inspiration for their latest MV
https://twitter.com/tetuaki_vine/status/651179012581036032

Hah, I had kind of assumed it was a general showa-era nostalgia thing, wouldn't have guessed it was literally referencing a specific show.

I still can't stop watching that video and listening to the single. it's weird, because it just sounds exactly like sakanaction but something about it has grabbed me harder than any other specific song of theirs.

I had a dream where I had gone back in time and met Andy Warhol and showed him Kyary Pamyu Pamyu music videos thinking it would blow his mind, but he seemed pretty unimpressed by both the videos and smartphone technology, like "yeah that's pretty much exactly what I expected the future to be like..."

You missed out Kurita. The show was a steal for that prize, even if you are only slightly interested in one of the groups. I got into 3 meet&greets (capsule's one, and charisma.com both days) plus the concerts for the 2 days for 75€. And that's me that I wasn't greedy, one friend of mine got into 5.

Hitomitoi - Labyrinth ~風の街で~

Edit: New Susumu Hirasawa album out November 18! I knew October was too good to be true.

so I guess this is part of a soundtrack that they composed for whatever this movie is supposed to be

https://youtu.be/TucIQRRmqWM - semi nsfw

http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B01467KOZS/

but I dunno, if it's just 70 minutes of Kindan no Tasuketsu music and girls making out that's probably ok by me

For some reason I didn't realize they were doing the whole soundtrack but it seems like they are, now I'll have to buy it, you know, for the soundtrack.

THE NOVEMBERS also released a new PV, pretty damn good
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GxOMyjVc8vg&feature=youtu.be
Note that there's two versions, they want you to watch both at the same time on two smartphones to have the complete picture :D

Love this. Interesting how they got Masami Tsuchiya to produce, he's great but he's the last person I'd associate shoegaze with.

New PV by Yonezu Kenshi
http://youtu.be/Qa9PkDZkyHg

His new album, Bremen, is another fantastic release. Unique melodies and atmosphere. I don't really know another artist like him. He was influenced by the Bible apparently when creating this album, often referencing it in the lyrics. Once again Yonezu covers a wide range of styles, from アンビリバーズ that feature no guitar at all to Neon Sign and its heavy riffs.
So yeah, Yonezu Kenshi showing once again why he's so popular.

Yeah they're airing the Budokan lives they did last month
I wonder if they're gonna release them on DVD/BR, would be cool.

So was going trough some random natalie news and I found 溶けない名前 to be quite interesting. It has potential. Some of you might enjoy it as well:

Weird, YouTube just recommended then to me yesterday. I'm glad they share my love for unnecessarily over aggressive bass tones

Lol

e: I like that natalie picked this up. slow news day?

ゆるめるモ!were just listening to their new soundtrack ep thing on showroom and it sounds great. more of the cool dreamy sounding stuff.

apparently Ano is bad at geography so Younapi had her draw Hokkaido. close enough, but then she said Nagoya was northwest of Tokyo...

e: heh, someone else thought that was amusing. Papua, now west of japan.

Saw her last year in Boston. Fun show.

Speaking of Suiyôbi No Campanella, Specific has December 18th for Jugem' je t'aime on CD & Vinyl (no physical preorder up yet though).

Seems this might have been a premature posting, because the page no longer exists and Specific's Bandcamp doesn't list the release.

Is this just a French release of the new album, or something entirely different? I noticed the number of tracks seems different, and the Specific release showed Napoleon on the tracklist.

it looked like a compilation of sorts. amusingly, most of them were the ones that referenced french figures.

except Nero was on there. for some reason.

well he wasn't wrong lol. If you go by Japanese tv you would think their entire music industry is AKB, Taylor Swift, Perfume, Exile, Sekai No Owari, and the various Johnny's dudes who all sound creepily exactly alike.

Anyway, moving to Japan next week and one of the things on the top of my list... to find a copy of Quruli's Philharmonic or Die live DVD. Been wanting this for years, been super hard to find. A not cd only or busted up one that is.
